Aldi was open by the way. Bit chocker though.
Don’t get it one bit me. Proper confused me thatNext funeral I go too I'll start a hip hip hooray.
What she is not pointing out or willing to admit is that slavery was a cultural norm in African communities, that the Asante culture were fundamental in this and that there is every chance that her ancestors were ccaught and sold into slavery by fellow Africans. It all well and good saying that she wants the queen to die in excrutiating pain becuase her ancestors fell victim to slavery but if she is going to be selective about a subject, and as a supposed academic, then she is better off not talking about it, IMO.I dont think shes blaming the Queen, but pointing out the monarchy supported slavery and profited from it.
Shes entitled to be angry, but it's probably not the optimal moment to be saying it.
That being said, I've probably called Andrew a nonce about 100 times over the last 24 hours, so theres a lot of pot, kettle and black from me!

Yes, and the president of Georgetown University took the helm in 2001. Still ended up having to deal with it.Queen Elizabeth took the throne in 1952…
Can’t gauge the worldwide sentiments towards the royal family but I do know they are very popular in Asia, especially former colonies like Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. The pain is felt in these faraway land. So no, they won’t see UK as a mad nation and embarrassing bootlickers.I think the stuff you are seeing like ‘nation in mourning’ from the bbc paints the U.K. as a mad nation of insane bootlickers to the rest of the world. Is embarrassing.
As I understood it she was born in Nigeria and was talking about the genocide that happened there in the 60s during the Wilson government. What she is not pointing out or willing to admit is that slavery was a cultural norm in African communities, that the Asante culture were fundamental in this and that there is every chance that her ancestors were ccaught and sold into slavery by fellow Africans. I am not a royalist but it doesn't mean I can not sympathise with a family that has lost a loved one.Why they doing hip hip hooray to Charles when his ma has just popped her clogs. Doesn’t seem like a celebration. Weird southerners.
The monarchy are not in control of the UK, mate.Yes, and the president of Georgetown University took the helm in 2001. Still ended up having to deal with it.
During the time period in question, the monarchy retained a substantial amount of power. Point being, while the present officeholder may have clean hands, slavery did contribute to the present wealth and influence of both institutions. The monarchy are not in control of the UK, mate.
