Current Affairs Her majesty the Queen

I'm not a royalist but I recognise the moment. We know the Queen has died. But watching the BBC News some of the people who've come out
I just think this is why we have a succession of (failed) Tory governments this is why we have a monarchy. Because of all these creatures in our
60 odd million country. They're on a completely different setting different world to the average working man. Some Chelsea Pensioner bursing in to
tears like Blakey from On The Buses. Some guy with a load of corgies talking about today being the first day of 'healing'. Different strokes for different folks.

This is ridiculous. 12 days of mourning? WTF are we supposed to do? House of Commons having a 10 hour session to "pay tribute". Sport, the great release from life, cancelled.

I very much doubt the Queen would have wanted any of that.
I think that's royal mourning rather than national mourning mate.

….it was the contents as much as the delivery. Much of these speeches are written by others but they will quality assure the text. Not sure Truss and her advisors hit the right note.
Hers sounded like bullet points from a schoolkid's GCSE History coursework on the british monarchy.

From work...

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, all non-essential activity is to be suspended

But I'm off sick at the moment, guess I'll have to take up my day week of mourning when I'm back in work.

Sounds like when 9/11 happened. They didn't send us home. They just told us not to work on anything external. The between-the-lines message was, "Take calls (not that we got many) and get caught up on your paperwork, boys and girls!"
