Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

Just sort it out. You could sign him for 20m tomorrow and in 12 months even if he doesn’t perform he’s worth this at least.

Clowns running the asylum as per last 40 years. So infuriating
They accepted a bid of £12m + extras last summer, it's no wonder we're not going too high and now he's also in the last year of his contract

Just a good job you're not back running us again!

Guess we'll see how impressed Hackney really was with our presentation, because I doubt we'll go anywhere near £20m.

If you were Hackney, surely you'd pick Palace over us? And even if you would prefer Everton, it wouldn't be enough to be difficult and try and force a move. Not with Moyes here anyway. Palace win things and are in Europe?!

Come off it mate. Palace over Everton? Give your head a wobble pal. If Everton were in the 4th tear mate I’d still prefer Everton over Palace.

Yes so it’s not going to be 20 plus a year later with him having a year less on his deal. I think it will be 16 with add ons

The only Cavet mate, may be of Boro say to themselves, we were within a hare's breath of promotion this year, maybe its worth it to let his contract run down get promoted and we have a right go at getting into PL next season. The risk of course is an unhappy player, but that's the jeopardy in decision making.

9 times out of 10 though - the player will get their way IMO, that's why i think he will come here eventually i think we know that to.

In Europe and Won 3 trophies in last few years. We aren't a big club anymore and certainly don't operate like one.
They’ve had an incredible two years and I’m happy for their fans to enjoy winning two major trophies (charity shield doesn’t count, come on) but even their fans know we’re a bigger club than them even though they’ve had a much better few years.

I live down south and know a few palace fans, good guys.

I love this time of the window, nobody wants the player, he wouldn't get in our team, he is 8 not a 6, he will sit on the bench!
Someone else shows interest, we have to get it done now, board is a disgrace, dithering Davie, we are a joke etc etc 🤣
People know the spark points are about derby defeats and CF effort and composure, but the kindling for that eruption is long term disagreement about CM roles and if someone is more suited as a 6 or an 8, a Mezzala or a Regista.

Historically 'bigger' yes... but what makes us a bigger club as of today? How do you define 'bigger', the stadium, player wages, number of fans globally?

I think it is the wrong question. I know how much they can earn will come into it, but what would a player rather say at the end of their short career - I played for Everton for 17 years (e.g. Coleman) but didn't win anything, or I played for Palace for a few years of my career and I won 3 trophies. I would suggest the latter.

What value does being a bigger club have? Do you think players give a toss if we had a decent team in the 80s? We have a outdated manager who coaches an awful playstyle and younger players have no path. I would picking Palace, Bournemouth etc over us if I was a player currently. Hopefully it may change but I have zero faith in Anus

IF we still consider ourselves a " big club"..it is because of history and now, the stadium. If, as most fans do, they base their attitude towards us based on watching us play, the players who play for us, the players we sign...absolutely we are not a big club...we are a makeweight in the PL who had a good year last year because we werent in a relegation battle.

Stadium, turnover, fanbase in relation to the ‘what is bigger’ question

Longevity and the knowledge we’re not a short term success is the value being a bigger club has and why players should join us over Palace or Bournemouth.

Leicester won a premier league and now they’re in league 1. West Ham won a European trophy and are now in the championship.

Do you think players like Dewsbury Hall should’ve joined/stayed at West Ham/Leicester because they recently won a trophy?
