…..they’ll want to sell to the highest bidder but the power is with the player. Boro’ will play brinksmanship, the player will sit and wait, Everton will sit and wait on their valuation.

But if I'm Middlesbrough, I'm not accepting an offer this early and would run it as close to the deadline closing as I could.

If Everton dont stump up, someone definitely will - a lot of it comes down to the player. If he refuses to go elsewhere, we could get a bargain.

Spot on about Championship POTY , that comes with a premium.

Hopefully we have learnt from last year with transfers getting dragged out over the summer and be sensible and get it done shortly.

Totally agree. I don't think Garner, hackney and KDH can all play in the same midfield but none of them is going to do the work of protecting the back four

They'd do very well to sell Hackney and come out the other side a better team, so there's an argument for just keeping him until his contract runs down. Promotion is worth a lot more than £15-25m.
