I see what you're saying, and they still will do whatever they want to punish us as a smaller but viable target, ignoring City/Chelsea etc.

Does it make sense for the rules? No.
Will it happen to us (and likely no one ever again)? Very likely.

Totally agree. I don't think Garner, hackney and KDH can all play in the same midfield but none of them is going to do the work of protecting the back four

Hackney has allegedly indicated he wants Boro to sort a deal with us.

I think as far as Boro are concerned they need to be seen to be standing firm over their best player,which is understandable.

They won't won't to be seen to be a easy touch.

Also Charles could still be part of our thinking.

They could if we played more of a proper 3 but we don't. We have had one of the better defences in recent seasons even with the likes of Keane in it so I don't think they need as much protection as maybe some are making out. Garner had some impressive defensive numbers last season also.
