Yeah the whole him wanting to join Everton thing over other PL clubs is clearly BS.

We've tried with a pathetically low bid, so now whoever is in charge of our transfers will be hoping Palace go and get him for what would likely prove to be a reasonable £20m so they can say "we can't offer Europe" or something.

TBF, they're a more impressive outfit than Everton.

Luckily you said "if". Because we dont know any of that stuff. Also, you have to acknowledge that sometimes "right fit" means everything. Sensible player can choose wisely. And obviously in this case it would be him choosing the "right fit" Everton. Admirable, you agree?

Spurs have finish 17th the last two seasons.

Man Utd have a well stocked midfield and their fans will want headline signings.

Crystal Palace finished 2 places below this team in the league and have just lost their manager.

They'd do very well to sell Hackney and come out the other side a better team, so there's an argument for just keeping him until his contract runs down. Promotion is worth a lot more than £15-25m.

I think it's all fanciful, tbh.

If we get him it'll be because no one else wanted him. The stories about other clubs being in for him will have been generated by the selling club.
