Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

I totally agree with this...even more evidence that people dont see us as relevent anymore.
100%. Think I've posted on here before that most of my lads mates (he's 16) genuinely believe the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace etc, are bigger clubs than Everton. They've seen nothing in their lives to suggest otherwise. If he tells them we had the 3rd most league titles before the premier league and we're still 5th on that list then they genuinely think he's having a laugh. Until they ask co-pilot.

The fee thing is a bit weird. On one hand fair play to Middlesbrough for trying to get as much as they can as the selling club, we would be doing the same, but on the other it's a risky move as the player will leave on a free if they don't sell this summer. It's strange that there were reports about 10-15m being enough when it's now considered double that is what they want.

The calculation they’re making isn’t whether they’ll get the fee they want for him or nothing at all.

It’s whether they get the fee they want or he’s around to help them in their promotion push next season.

If he helps get them promoted, missing out on his transfer fee was the right move.

It's a big gamble though.

Good luck to them finishing above wolves, Burnley or West Ham next season and their play off final record is abysmal

They need a miracle to get promoted next season even with hackney

As much as posters are throwing numbers around and suchlike...

...its all been quite private between the clubs compared with other sagas.

Just got to wait for bobble to update us.

Middlesbrough are a decent sized club with a good owner. Their ambition will definitely be promotion. Don't forget they were top of the league for most of the 24/25 season before tailing off. They don't want to sell their best players and if we want to buy one we have to pay their asking price. It wouldn't surprise me if he stayed at Boro and came to Everton next summer, providing we haven't been relegated.

Odd that we are allegedly buying a central midfielder when Garner is playing quite well in that very position. Possibly the position we least need to strengthen?
I actually think we need more quality in central midfield.

Gana is 37/38
Tim is Hot and Cold
Armstrong is still a baby.

We've got bodies but not the right ones.
