Transfer Rumour Hayden Hackney

Maybe he’s the easiest to get
I’d say we are looking at RB, LB RW DM CF as well as squad options
If not we definitely should be
We probably have priorities and targets in each position but will sign them as they become available
Window not open yet and players on holidays or on WC duty
Although you would hope players and agents would have been sounded out well before now
Just as Hackney and his agent were
We were strongly linked last summer so if that was true you would imagine the groundwork was already in place.
I don’t think you can guess the relative priority of a player according to the order they are signed. That seems a naive way to assess any recruitment.

There are a lot of people jumping to conclusions that because this wasn’t done immediately it won’t be done but think about how last summer went.
We knew we were in for Barry, Dibling Grealish and KDH long before they signed.

Now I definitely don’t want to spend around 70m for another Barry and Dibling but my point is, when we were in, we tended to get it done. I think the only one we almost definitely showed interest in and didn’t get was Delap because he quickly chose Chelsea and we moved on to Barry.

I have a lot of problems with last summers recruitment but overall we got the players that we went after in the end and if that means getting them for lower than the selling club wanted then that’s a good thing.

Pretty sure Dibling was the only haggle transfer, and we weren't even fighting anyone for there Transfers.
KDH was a quick signing.

Come off it mate. Palace over Everton? Give your head a wobble pal. If Everton were in the 4th tear mate I’d still prefer Everton over Palace.
You're an Evertonian. When are people going to realise that reputations of 40 years ago mean NOTHING to younger generations of footballers and fans.

Ask around the world. Most people who are the age of professional footballers consider us a small club. We can argue if it is right or wrong, but that is how we are perceived.

I agree tbh.

I think it shows how things can change. Palace were up and down and around relegation but since then won FA Cup and another 2 cups and have Europe.

We have been around the relegation pan a few years and this season have done ok but nothing major. Things can change quickly and go fully they will for us.
