Felt like it but on the replay not sure he could have got it around the defender so went through his legs.

The only positive, and it is a positive, is that Moyes has a lot of trust in him and he is getting games. Does his best out wide but it’s neutering him, and also we look totally disjointed. Not having a proper wide player. Wouldn’t mind if there was loads of attacking on the other side, but there’s nothing.

Interestingly about 2 years ago he was moving out of the u18s to u21s, another big leap, and was put out on the left wing for his first game . It’s like we have a club philosophy that says you need to be played out of position to get experience and earn your place.

He doesn't look remotely ready for this level. Maybe it is all positional, and also maybe not.

As we’ve long suspected on here, you do not understand the game of “soccer”. Please go and watch something else.

Didn't put a foot wrong again and played smart but really should have blasted his effort instead of looking for placement.

Wasted on the wing tho especially with a centre back as left back.

These games and minutes will make him but it's just frustrating for everyone at the moment.

Every club does this. I seem to remember Gerrard playing right back a few times for Liverpool when he broke through. Centre mid is the hardest position on the field. Very few teams have 18 years olds playing there so playing him wide is a safe way of getting him used to the premier league. It's either that or he doesn't play because he isn't ready to play in the middle for us. Lewis Miley at Newcastle is a more talented player and he's also been played out of position.

He obviously trusts him to follow instructions, track his man, be defensively disciplined, work hard etc… all the traits Moyes values in a wide forward.

Moyes will though, despite everybody else seeing he should be playing in the middle the old stubborn git will stick him on the bench or on the wing. FFS Moyes play players in the correct positions !!

He’s a shining star, his talent is obvious to all. He will be a main stay for us in the future.

He’s obviously not a left winger, no matter if the instruction is to invert and come inside - it’s not his position.

Play him centre mid with Jimmy & KDH in a flat 3, and send Gana packing.
