2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Tbh I don’t think Illy and Gana are back at training yet, so I’d expect the same 3 to start in midfield - and for me that’s how it should be anyway, as a unit they were close to superb.
Changing a winning side right now would be stupid. Moyes has already done it a couple of times this season, after the Forest win he reverted to O’Brien at right-back and the Keane/Tarkowski pairing, and it proved to be a mistake.

if he stays or for next season, it should be kept in mind that even if long term he turns out to be an excellent player for us, it is still absolutely normal for any young player to turn in crap or average performances. In fact it shouldn’t even be a surprise if he plays Monday and has a stinker.
If the team performs well, I think he will. Even in the Sunderland game, when we were poor, I thought he did fine, average performances are perfectly fine if others aren't pulling their weight, he will have his bad games also, it's key that Moyes allows him to learn from those bad games and doesn't immediately look to drop him.

….that’s sensible, I always have that view of young loanees, their form will always dip during a season but Armstrong was consistently good for Derby last season and it’s been similar with PNE. This lad seems a bit different.

He reminds me of a young Colin Harvey - Colin played the old inside right position to replace the great Roy Vernon at first - struggled -as he was very young - came back in a deeper role - what a player he was .....

It seems he's consistent, it means very very little but I've not seen him get below a 6.4 player rating on fotmob since joining Preston.

He does, but as much as we want superstar heroes coming from the youth teams the realistic objective in regards to players that stay with us is a baseline that they contribute positively as a squad member over a season.

If he is with us in three years and takes part as starter or sub in a sizeable number of games each season and plays reasonably well, well then you have a successful youth team product and it should be kept in mind.

Anything above and beyond would be great, but as we know is very rare. That automatic pick that really stands out and actually cares about the club is the dream. Let’s see with Armstrong

IMO we blew it this season sending him out on loan in the first place !
I only supported the move because Moyes was unlikely to give him meaningful minutes, and the worrying part is that, once everyone’s fit again, he might still struggle to get that game time at Everton.

I just want to be a team that prioritises young players, especially if said young players are quite obviously PL ready.
