Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard.

John Bailey for me
When he first started he was rough round the edges but after time shone through
On the other side Terry Curran potentially the best winger I've seen

feel the saying was made for a certain Spanish winger we have just lost. I think it's way Koeman ultimately got rid and loaned him out to Milan. It's also why I think he Calvin-Lewin has been given a run in the team. Is there any other players or ex players that fall into this category?

So you don't think DCL was given a run for some experience and to give him the flexibility of playing across a front 3? you think it is just because he can put a shift in? I beg to differ.

No I'm not saying that. I think the lad is talented , I remember a quote about him in training might have been when he was away with England about the effort he puts in.

Sorry, its early, if I have misunderstood then forgive me.

So many negative posts on here about DCL that I may have been jumping the gun a little in his defence.

Steven Naismith. Loved him.. me.
Ran around like a sex starved terrier, Can't imagine any defenders getting an easy time when he was on song. Also able to find the back of the net too... Too cruelly underrated... by far too many on here.
Oh... and a descent fella too.... Unlike some of the more "talented" players we have managed to aquire this last few years.
Hope we get him back this summer, Would fit this new high pressure football like a glove....a real koeman type signing.

I totally agree that Nais was / is a top bloke and works very hard on the pitch but for me despite his hard work he does not have enough talent to grace Goodison.

Oh.... harsh... Would rather him than many of the dross el Bob brought in. I guess I'm not moving with the times.... But i would still have him coming off the bench...when we need his tenacity....or players of the same ilk.
