Groundshare?

I admit the Kirkby idea is looking less appealing, but going back to the bacics and the positives, the design looks very good and its affordable. To me, they are the main things. If it doesn't happen, can anyone really see us finding an alternative stadium within Liverpool and funding it ourselves? Not a chance.

Thats the nail on the head, if kirkby doesnt happen then were screwed as we cant afford to redevelop GP and there isnt any other sites in liverpool available

I'd share a ground if it was completely 50/50.

(the seats would have to be blue though. :D)

That's a fair point, mate. Money is where it is at and with a shared stadium we would need to come up with more than the Kirkby project (unless it mysteriously goes up in price). I think the difference is something like £150m for a 50% stake in the shared stadium and about £80m for the Kirkby project. But say we had £80m for Kirkby, what could we do to Goodison with that? It's a mess and I'll be glad when it's sorted out one way or the other.

I can't for the life of me recall where but I've viewed (online) an artists's impression of a shared stadium with Prince Rupert's Tower in one corner and a Liver Bird in the other. Anyone else seen this?

The proposal was that one corner would have dressing rooms for the Everton players and their visitors for each game and that the other corner would have the same for Liverpool.

The designer even went to the extent of suggesting that the entrance in one corner should have 'Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" over the door whilst the other would have the title of that song the kopites love to sing from Carousel.

The whole thing seemed to have been thought through quite thoroughly.

I'm no lover of the enemy but this might be an idea whose time has come. We've lived next door to them for 110 years - mostly with friendly relations existing between the two camps. It makes sense to me to put up one stadium rather than two. Greener, less expensive and a testament to the friendly rivalry that is the real history of the two clubs - not this kneejerk hatred that does a disservice to all lovers of the game.

Fair point, but if it was planned months earlier/years then its could've happened. Both clubs have spent millions on planning a new move, throwing this out and starting again just wouldnt happen being the time spent on both projects.

As it is, even if it did go through, LFC would still own the ground and we'd have to rent it from them. Also, I'm sure LFC were the ones who said no to a groundshare in the 1st place.

LCC just want EFC to stay in the city so they can keep getting the money the club can generate to the city. Any chance of them legally keeping EFC in the city they'll throw at it because Knowsley council will be getting a huge chunk of cash LCC wont be getting.

Its last dice time.

Anyone who thinks that LFC (or their glove-puppets at LCC) would agree to anything that doesn't give them control is living in cloud-cuckoo land.
IF we are to believe whats being said on red sites Hicks is short of cash as it would also bail him out not that it would make him popular with either sides fans

Groundshare over Kirkby, but I'd rather our own somewhere else.
All I want is a ground that is up to the standard of Everton F.c. and clearly thats not Kirkby ,I know all the arguments about cost ect but as we have been misled all the way over Kirkby how can anyone be sure? even now there are still doubts.and these are not the KEIOC people who stained there stand by smearing our fans in scare tactics. Also with Bully now saying there may be problems with the goverment I dont know why can we not do anything that resembles normality Mr.Moyes is doing a fine job but is being undermined by the board why did they delay his contract offer and why is it not signed?maybe Dave is waiting to see the cash for transfers,or is simply making Bill sweat for not hurring his contract offer who knows one thing for sure much as I want big money signings as that is the only way to bridge the gap I worry about us having a mountain of debt

Yes, I have to agree with you there, if the stadium plan in Kirkby was 'World class' then I think I'd have to reconsider.

Fingers crossed for a Russian billionaire with a steady head and genuine interest in the club - b) Yes I do buy lottery tickets
