According to TMZ.com,

Macho Man Randy Savage, real name Randy Poffo, has died in a car accident in Tampa, Florida. The story reports that his brother Lanny Poffo claims he had a heart attack at the wheel while driving.

TMZ reports that Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler with is wife of one year, Lynn, in the passenger seat when he swerved across the median through oncoming traffic and collided with a tree. His wife survived with minor injuries, but he died. He was also wearing his seat belt. Police say alcohol was not a factor

He was 58.

Gutted.

Not long after Ijj put those clips up aswell.

Yeah just watched it. Was rubbish, except the match you mention.

John Cena needs a heel turn desperately - his "superman" crap is right annoying.

In some ways i agree but i always remember the Stone Cold heel turn at Wrestlemania. It just didn't work and was a huge mistake. He still got cheered when he was meant to be a heel - not saying this would happen with Cena, but i think Cena needs more of a raw approach to his character, edgier and less 'superman'. Tweak him from being super-face to more neutral.

A similar turn that R-Truth is taking on would work. In fact, it'd work far better. A complete turn on the fans.

It won't happen, as he's marketable to the hilt and McMahon loves the merchandising sales in the short term. In the long term, he's probably the biggest single reason the WWE is pretty terrible right now and why the average age of viewers is dropping to around the 11 year old mark.

That's not necessarily a bad thing if that's what they want it to be, but it's dangerous because once the "cool" factor moves away and these kids get older, the WWE will be left in no-mans land - kids won't watch it, nobody else will either.

There's a massive hole in the market that a good organisation could exploit right now, but thankfully for McMahon only TNA exists and, quite frankly, from what I've seen of that, it's a non-entity.

Ooooh i'd never write off McMahon. He's like the Man Utd of the wrestling world. Wrestling works in cycles, it reflects society. At the moment i think that is what is happening. Back in the attitude era it did the same then. It will change and evolve it always does, at the minute it is hitting a small lull, but it is still phenomenal entertainment as far as i'm concerned.

But i agree it hasnt been at it's best

Personally I would love to see Cena turn heel. When he was rapping and doing the Dr of thuganomics he was fantastic. His mike skills were up there with the Rock. But at the moment the WWE is appealing to younger generations and the show is way more 'PG' than the attitude era. Cena is like their Rooney/Messi/Ronaldo, he is the MVP and sells the most merchandise. Alas Vinnie Mac wont turn the guy heel as it would have a detrimental effect on revenue. Until someone more popular comes along and they pass the torch to them Cena will remain the number one guy. I do love the fact that although the kids cheer the adults boo him loudly lol! Fruity Pebble!

OK, so i've not done one of these for a while. Doing that Macho Man, then him passing away put me off!!

So to try and get round this, i'm gonna do a slightly more modern wrestler. He wasn't in WWE for long but he did have a massive impact, and he's finally gone on to bigger and better things. This weeks Wrestler is:

BROCK LESNAR - Full name: Brock Edward Lesnar

Lesnar worked in WWE between 2002 and 2004 having trained in OVW from 2000. Lesnar debuted on WWF television on the March 18, 2002 episode of Raw, accompanied by Paul Heyman, and Heyman gave Lesnar the nickname 'The Next Big Thing'.

Lesnar started to main event following his King Of The Ring victory in June 2002, and soon he was facing The Rock for the Undisputed title at Summerslam. This made Lesnar the youngest Champion ever at the age of 25 (although this has since been suppassed by Randy Orton).

Some of Lesnar's finest matches came against The Big Show and Kurt Angle. One match on Smackdown against The Big Show saw this happen:

And at Wrestlemania XIX he botched a Shooting Star Press giving him concussion, but he carried on proving how hard he really is:

Lesnar's rather epic F-5 finisher was earning him great reviews and fans despite him not having the best mic skills. All was going well until Wrestlemania 20 saw a feud with Goldberg and Lesnar leave WWE with it widely know he had signed a pro football contract with NFL and the Minnesota Vikings. His final match in WWE against Goldberg saw the crowd jeer both men and has gone down in infamy as one of the worst 'mania matches ever.

Lesnar's NFL career spectacularly failed to take off, however, he soon found himself in the world of UFC where he has gone onto win titles and become the highest paid MMA fighter of all time.

However, to me, he will still be 'The Next Big Thing' and will always remember Tazz on commentry:

Haha, I remember when Lesnar came into WWE, can't believe it was only 2 years, tho it makes sense looking back... his F5 on Show was awesome, tho god knows what he was doing trying to do the SSP, especially with Kurt so far away....
