Getting the best out of Jelavic

He may have his work cut out, just to get in the team, As I seem to remember that Wigan were constantly linked with Anichebe, so there must be something that Martinez see's in him?

Might want to rethink what league we play in...

tbh mate its the same league we play in as when jela arrived and was banging them in for fun before his style of play was changed to fit in with the managers ideals of what a striker needs to do, players like torres etc goals dried up due to losing something they relied upon in pace, jela doesnt rely on that much as van persie doesn't, much as gomes at bayern didnt and a lot of gomez goals where first touch finishes as hes a lazy sod which is why he eventually lost his spot in the team, but look at berbatov, someone who has often been quoted as a should have buy for us and he has no pace whatsoever and never really did have

a poacher by the very use of the word coming from opportunistic stealing of livestock rabbits etc usually at night etc when no ones looking hence used to describe the stealing of a goal in footy, call it fox in the box or whatever the current fad is these days, but jela is a poacher in the sense the word was always applied to goalscorers in the lineker mold

Actually a very good shout.

I think when he's got time to think about his finish he messes it up.

very good point as it comes from instinct, first touch a quick dart, the ball onto him, shot... the longer a move goes on the easier it is for the defender to pick him up after he makes that half yard as well

Like a good pen taker is one who doesn't think just picks a spot tbh

Stuck in your ways lads, just like Moyes...

the joy of a good forum mate, everyone has their own opinion about things, would get worried if we all thought the same thing, debates healthy when done decently ;) well aware I could easily be forced to eat my words should this year he get played up front in the box and be utter gash lol

Oh yeah id call miralles a flair player if were using terminologies etc too. goals made by himself and usually involving genuine pieces of skill, also tends to get inconstancy attached to it though unless your a messi, ronaldo etc ;p
