Can't have that mate sorry, Barkley never got the chance to show his mental strength fella he was substituted straight away , and is the most talented player in our whole squad and should be involved a hell of a lot more IMO

He messed up against Villa and continued to play, gave away a penalty to blackburn and after the game was in bits. Subbed or not, he obviously wasn't in the right state of mind imo.

I do agree he should be involved a tad more, but like it's been said - he's injured/was injured and has alot of trouble with match fitness atm.

If you're good enough, you're old enough FFS!

The only way players learn to deal with pressure of playing in the Premier League is by playing in it. It's also the best way to develop players as they have to raise the level of their game.

If someone is being taught how to skydive they aren't made to sit in a plane and watch people jump out for a couple of years before they're allowed to make their first jump.

You could actually argue that taking too long to bed a good player in to the team could be counter productive and lower their confidence as well as stunt their development as a player.

As Roz said, it should be about ability not age.

Dealing with match pressure is a sink or swim situation. Players will either learn to deal with it or not but sitting them on a bench will not increase their chances of learning to deal with it.

quality but the goals a stunner, probably already been posted but still
Anyone clear on WHEN we actually signed him, its bein reported today but some sources are from last year?

Yes but you're forgetting that Hibbert and Neville are PROFESSIONALS, they wouldn't let one mistake get there head down so much and they can take stick. Sure they're gash at times, but if Barkley was on the pitch making these mistakes he'd only blame himself and this is where Moyes will train his mentality.

Agreed, the sheer amount of mistakes these two can make, and not be afraid to make more, shows why Moyes prefers them to players who do not make mistakes.

The lad's 18 years of age and should be playing more, Tim Cahill done an interview with this very site and said he thought Ross was the biggest talent he'd played with and that was including first team players and international's, If Jose Baxter is getting more game time than Ross then something, somewhere is not right

Just because he's the most talented player at the club; at the age of 18 does not mean he should be playing.

Especially considering he's had a double leg break from previously playing at a level higher than his age!
