You walking would be a shame and a great loss to the conversation. I hope you will reconsider. Then I will have to take a walk.
I will also be incredibly disappointed in you.

I have a very hard time saying that minimizing the consequences is not condoning rape. If you want the backstory, I'll tell you via PMs.
Let the nasty piece of work (not Martin) have enough rope. They always feck up, it's who they are, they can't help it. They over reach and then it's curtains.Martin, please don't let that tedious bellend run you off the forum. As @Walken proposed, collectively putting him on ignore is the best way of handling it. The lad was nowhere to be seen when this forum was closed and he couldn't get the attention he craved from writing utter wham. We need to recreate that environment here. He's a little woman-hating weirdo that doesn't deserve a shred of credibility

In support of the above...Martin, please take this in the spirit that I’m trying to convey. I have no one on ignore, I want to see what people post. But I have in the past used it sparingly with one or two individuals who quite frankly were beyond the pale. So a couple of things, if someone is saying things that really touch a nerve for you and continue to do so, put them on ignore. Perhaps only for a short time, but give yourself a break. You will have seen the support you are getting from your fellow posters in here, so use the ignore button and relax. Others will no doubt argue your corner in this but perhaps do so without any personal experience. We are with you, but let it go as it’s not doing you any good at all. As I say, please take this in the spirit intended……
Its a derivative reply, but killing things with fire results in collateral damage, the fire itself is better put out by starving it.I appreciate the support. It is also the case that, at least in a group setting, I have to ask what we stand for.
I won't let him run me off the forum, but I don't think it's unreasonable to take a walk from CA. I would like to discuss politics, both here and abroad.
There are also things that I believe must be killed with fire. If they can exist in this space, I cannot, end of. There is right, and there is wrong.
Perhaps the best way I can put my answer is this: when it's war, it's war. The weapons are irrelevant. The only question is how best to put Sun-Tzu to use.Its a derivative reply, but killing things with fire results in collateral damage, the fire itself is better put by a starving it.

This is the second time you’ve defaulted to victim blaming on the subject of rape. Not sure I believe many of these stories. Women (and girls) in the US are tripping over themselves with charities providing such abortion expenses. If in doubt Google them yourself. They aren't difficult to find.
Disgusting for pointing out the dozens of charitable groups who help unfortunate females with abortion?
Thanks for that mate. I've been skipping or skim reading that poster for a while. Will add to ignore.+1 for just using the ignore button. It's very clear that the poster you're engaging with isn't just disagreeing, they're having wifully 'bad' opinions for the purpose of stoking a reaction, and saying you're close to going "Malcolm Tucker" on them is just giving them what they want. If every regular contributor to the 'biggie' CA threads just all did the same thing then they wouldn't bother hanging about because nobody would be getting hit by the grenades they'd be trying to lob in in lieu of discussion.
Unfortunately though you'll always get new people wander in who decide to push back against their increasingly desparate calls for attention.
BTW, I noticed a couple of odd uses of the word 'female' by that poster today where 'women' would be more conversationally suitable. There are groups out there that refuse to use the W word and resort to 'female' when speaking outside their own tribe - groups such as Incels who, wouldn't you just know it, are part of the far-right and generally claim that public money shouldn't go towards abortions because it rewards female* promiscuity.
* instance where 'female' is the appropriate word.
Instance where it isn't.
