The argument will become like gun rights.

Instead of "Dems will take your guns away" it will be "Dems are going to start killing babies again"
It will work just as well.
God I hope not.
I think GOP might be in a bit of trouble here. The extremists are going to start going after birth control and IVF.
If the democrats can't convince the public not to vote for a party that orchestrated a coup and introduced fundamentalist religious law, we're in big trouble.
It was infuriating to see people on line blaming everyone from Sanders to Susan Sarandon to RBG.
The slow burn of fundamental religious ideology is consuming vast chunks of this country. Time for the Democrats to unite and fight hard against it.

I fully believe it is going to get MUCH worse before it gets better.
Too many Dems, Independents and moderate/non-crazy-arse GOPs are still in denial.

See Madison Cawthorne has done something to annoy someone. Must have been the leaking of the sex filled coke orgies he disclosed.

I saw why he was trending and im sorry I saw it. Always the worst ones

I think there also just a fact that this and other social issues which get discussed aren’t the most important things out there for the moderates and independents. When you look at the latest Gallup poll on what the top voter issues are and what people care about most, it’s the cost of living and inflation, the economy as a whole, and government leadership. For those who prioritized those as their main concern before, this won’t change that for most, and fair or not those 3 things don’t reflect great on the Biden administration or congress at the moment.

I think you are making my point about denial for me.

I don't believe the trajectory of the GOP suggests they stop here or with only "social issues" which is what I mean by things will get worse.

Many things labeled "social issues" have economic impact - particularly on low income households and minorities.

People need their heads testing if they think it will stop here. They are coming for everything, Gay marriage, LGBTQ rights, even Interracial marriage will be on the cards. They are already going after childrens education.

Its honestly akin to the Taliban.

Exactly. This is what religious extremism brings about.

Sorry, but I don’t really think it’s denial. I think there’s widely accepted acknowledgment among those groups. However their individual concerns for themselves and their families don’t always change as a result. Basically I’m suggesting a lot of people in the buckets you highlighted would probably say the recent leak and path forward for abortion is bleak, wrong, etc. But at the same time they’re saying, “My money is now worth 10% less and I have less of it overall because the market is cratering…My individual priority is how im going to afford my home, feed my family, retire at some point, etc.” That’s not denial.
