At least in the States, the excuse that a child brought to full term will not find a home is no longer valid

So thats a yes then. I feel for people who cant have children, but forcing a woman to carry and give birth to a child that she does not want or risks her life for is still disgusting. Its abusive.

There is no excuse, none

There are plenty of kids in the US foster system for people to adopt.

The lady who was "Roe" regrets being involved in the case.

Look, we all know this is a very emotive issue. I hate the unnecessary loss of any human life however it happens. I have my own views and I won't attempt to impose on others.

Since it was made legal well over 6000 have been aborted in ROI per annum. That really makes me sad.

This is basically all anyone wants. Unfortunately, that’s not how Evangelicals in the US tend to handle their business.

Abortion is sad regarding of the term its carried out, nobody is saying it isnt and lets not forget here, the women having the abortion will also probably go through anguish and doubt about the process herself, but ultimately its their decision. Not mine, yours or a judges decision.

I had a friend who had an ectopic pregnancy and although not viable and it had to be terminated for her health, she was sad that she had lost 'a baby'. But thats classed as an abortion and it had to be done

Lets not act like women treat abortions like they are losing a hairclip, it will be a major decision for them.

Before abortion was legalised in the ROI it was still permissible where the mother's life was in danger. The ethic was if possible to save both, but the mother came first.

And? It shouldnt come with strings or caveats. Plus these new laws states are bringing in are some of the most exteme laws. No exceptions for anything. Rape, incest, mothers mental health, physical health, disabilities, deformities. Criminilising miscarriges and ectopic pregnancies etc. I could go on

Unless you personally are a female, pregnant or a Doctor specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology then its none of your business is it

OK enough said.

She actually recanted this. Antiabortion groups paid her to say it.

I think that part of the argument is a bit simplistic because I keep seeing on social media the phrase 'men shouldn't be making laws about women's bodies.'

In essence, it's not men who are making these decisions but rather state legislatures, including men and women, who are listening to these religious fanatics.

However, I agree with your point: why the fluff are so many people interested? I cherish life, but in my eyes a woman's body is her own - nobody else's.

For me, there's obvious caveats based on the age of the foetus etc., but in pretty much most cases nobody should be forced to carry a baby and to give birth.

And that's what it is - removing their choice and forcing them. We're meant to be progressing as a society rather than turning back to the dark ages.
