It's an insane lie. Why his wife would need help taking his 10 and 12 years old kids on holiday for him to just fly back. Also is he so dense that he doesn't think people will check whether his return was already sorted for an instant return. Republicans are so bad at being 2hats but yet again nothing will come of this.
It’s more the fact that that’s the best he could come up with. Like people are gonna look at that statement and be like, oh yeah that checks out.

It’s a repugnant lie as he’s passing the buck and trying to flip it so he looks like the good guy. You’re right though, political accountability is dead in the water.

Political accountability among Republicans is only valid to hold accountable Democrats but never their own because they are never to be blamed for anything. Like AOC said they could trip over their own shoe laces and would find a way to hold someone else responsible.

It does seem to be more synonymous with the right. Certainly in the U.K. and US anyways. Oh and Brazil

They should have told us what plane he was arriving on so we could greet him like Lyle Lanley touching down in North Haverbrook.

Whys there no talk of him travelling during the pandemic? Are they just cracking on as usual in America?
Data shows that flying is actually quite safe if everyone is masked up as the air is constantly circulated in flight. There are also restrictions and testing protocols to be allowed back into the country. I don’t see someone going on a trip and following protocols as particularly alarming anymore.

It has to be said though that United Airlines spearheaded the original research with advisors from the department of defense.

United are not exactly the bastions of service so them handling a research program is funny.

Of course all of the airlines will happily accept the data haha!

Funnily enough if you go to any non US based airline and read their guidelines on how they deal with the risk its a longer list of precautions and restrictions.

Either way people really should only be traveling if they really have to. Even if the data is correct @sbbefc. makes a valid point.

Just because it's "safe" or less risky on the plane moving about the country or to a different country just for a holiday seems selfish and kind of irresponsible.

I rarely leave home still, but I’m having a harder and harder time calling people selfish for wanting to do something that brings them some sort of joy. I work with people that live alone and have been champs but are really struggling now still not seeing anyone or having any normal social interactions. With work, we used to travel quite often. None since last March.

Is it selfish for people to go to restaurants or the gym? It’s more risky than not going of course, but after a year, my judgment of people that choose to do so is lessening. Should they do it? I don’t think so. It’s a tough question though.
