As I've put countless times in these threads, everything that we see now with the GOP points DIRECTLY to Rush Limbaugh in the early 90s. I lived it with my family. When he says he's the godfather or voice of the conservative movement, that's not hyperbole, it truly was him that started all this mess. People can argue the Reagan years with his policies, but Reagan at least acted like a decent human being when the cameras were on.Rush Limbaugh was one of the pioneers of the shock jock american right wing talk show crew , without him the world would probably have been spared the likes of the tea -party , bannon , trump etc
It's amazing how these people weaponise religion and get away with it. When in fact, if there was a God and a Hell they would be among the first ones sent there for their behaviour. Awful, awful people
In other news, we got Ted Cruz. Sorry if I don't link tweets correctly, but apparently he said peace out to Texans while they freeze without power or water

Generally speaking this is true. Texas still has this frontier mythos about it (especially its politics) which can serve us well in terms of overall economic growth but far too often screws the people of the state.Arkansas seem to be doing better job than Texas during this winter storm even when it comes to cleaning their roads. This Stateline Ave yesterday morning in Texarkana at the same location. One side is TX and the other AR.

Texas has become a victim of its own policies, this is what happens when a state focus on deregulation, keeping taxes low, giving tax breaks and catering the needs of big businesses, while at the same time underfunding their infrastructure and services
Neglect and miss management by Republicans but as always they are trying to blame someone else for their failures.
)That picture reminds me of a road, also called Stateline St, in the town where my mom grew up on the TN/KY border. The only difference is that it was in a residential area, so anyone who lived 50 feet across the road from you literally lived in another state, so they went to different schools, paid different taxes, etc.Arkansas seem to be doing better job than Texas during this winter storm even when it comes to cleaning their roads.
