Have to admit I am really uncomfortable with people turning up to personal residences to protest.
To me your place of business is fair game as it is your public persona and if the heat gets too much you can relatively easily resign and it doesn’t impact your relatives. It is also likely to be not zoned for residential living so doesn’t impact other families.
Turning up to your home where your family lives seems more threatening even if it in this instance is only an innocuous Mariachi band.
Personally it seems to just another step on the line between passive aggressive and active aggression. Next step in the progression is what happened to Tucker Carlson which, despite the fact I loathe the man, was way out of order.

The level of disregard for others and juvenile antics disguised as "freedom" in this country are infuriating. I'd bet every dollar in my wallet these West Virginia electeds claim to be of faith. Cannot imagine this models the example of their Savior.
Nicely written thread and respectful approach in pointing out the mad desire to draw equivalencies between the approach to governing between the parties in the United States.

While I agree that most of the time people should not protest at a politician house and leave this outcry for other settings. What Cruz did was so utterly shameful that in my opinion he deserved for people to voice their complaints at his residence, specially given that many of them were still encountering dire situations because of the decisions of Texan politicians like Cruz.
I definitely don't justify vandalizing anyone house, even as much I dislike Tucker Carlson, but a peaceful protest like the one at Cruz house seem very appropriate given the circumstances and his lack of empathy toward his fellow Texans.

Yeah, I agree. There are moral right and wrongs, and Cruz has consistently been on the wrong side as has that racist a-hole Tucker Carlson and his racist wife and his likely-racist-to-be kids. I really can't muster sympathy or even pretend to care about people standing outside and yelling at these jerk-off's homes.

Tbf I actually thought that while entertaining Cruz didn't deserve to be serenaded by the Mariachi band. In the Latin Culture having a band singing in the front of your home is usually a great manifestation of love. Is like an honor. So Cruz should be considered himself lucky to have received this sort of protest and not the type of hateful harassment some people from the far right are well known for (those same people that have learned their hateful rhetoric from watching Tucker Carlson)
