This is, apparently, real and taken seriously by grown men:

Crenshaw‘s pitch for 2024 is embracing very Trumpian social media styles but with a military resume. I think he’ll do better than the personality vacuum that is Tom Cotton (especially as GOP seems keen on personality cults) but will be fascinating to see how he fares against the other candidates, especially Trump Jnr who I expect to run as well.

Of course in this context “fascinating” can be read as “scary as hell as they may just win”!

Beyond the fact this pair is all hat and no cattle, there's no way a guy who is 5'5" is going to win a Republican nomination.

Hey, stop picking on us shortarses! And Napoleon was about the same height ;)

What I hadn’t realised was Crenshaw was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. If he does start to gather momentum I presume there will be another birther push.

I can’t see him mounting any sort of serious run in 2024. He will only be 40 at the time, and is only just now finishing his first term in the House. I can’t recall any major party candidate in my lifetime winning the nomination after having only served in the House. That pool of people usually includes former vice-presidents, governors and senators. Him being nominated by the Republicans wouldn’t be very different from the Democrats nominating AOC, which almost unthinkable IMO.

I didn’t think Dems would nominate Obama in 2008 (too inexperienced), Biden in 2020 (too old) or GOP Trump in 2016 (too many issues to list) so with that track-record and especially this early am not ruling anyone out lol

I actually did go into this election cycle expecting Biden to get the nomination, but you’re spot on about the other two. Plus, I’ll never again put it past Republicans to select the most batshit candidate possible.

Of course, 2024 is so far off it’s impossible to even get a good read on what the Republican Party will look like by then. Especially with Trump sitting down in Mar a Lago, tweeting (or maybe only Parlering at that point if Twitter holds him to the same standards of other private citizens) and causing all sorts of chaos.

Let's be clear. I'm not picking on any short ladies' arses or anything else. As Lyle Lovett says, "my baby don't tolerate!" :)

McCain was born in the Canal Zone. Nobody seriously was concerned. But I'd guess the Scots would disown Crenshaw. He's a numpty scrote.

He's white and his name sounds American so I'm going to say it won't be a problem.
