General strike/protest

I think you are doing Doctors a great disservice by suggesting they would act in a manner potentially injurious to their patients.

Oh I'd never suggest that......

BBC....

Junior doctors in England are escalating strike action next month to include a walkout of emergency care.
It will be the first time doctors have refused to provide cover in areas such as A&E and intensive care......

Irresponsible & sensationalist journalism. There will still be doctors providing cover.

You're having a shocker tonight.

No mate, you are. You will not answer a simple question. You are more concerned with the politics of doing down the Tories than the effects of Doctors walking out. You have tried to say that it won't cause any problems......even though plain common sense says otherwise......but you keep going on about food bins and the nasty Tories .....don't bother to open your mind to anything that perhaps doesn't play to your political agenda.........

Do me a favour and don't talk about political agendas when you're using hypothetical deaths for which you have no evidence to further yours

Common sense would suggest that doctors don't harm patients. They are striking to disrupt. Their roles will be filled by others. Some people will be inconvenienced through cancellation of non critical care.

Your outrage is under a pretence of caring and concern. You're a supporter of the Nasty Party. It doesn't add up.

Not really the same article says that emergency patients will be cared for more than adequately but the poster decided not to put that bit in his post

No probs then mate. So if it causes no problems why do it.......what happens to someone who has a heart attack or a car accident, or heaven forbid that the nutters of ISIL set off a bomb......actually that would be a good time to do it.......scary stuff eh........

There will be doctors available for emergencies. You really aren't getting this are you? Have you ever been to a hospital? They do more than last ditch, life saving emergency operations, you know. The strikes will probably cause the already ridiculous NHS waiting queue to become longer, but nobody will die as a result. It isn't even as though their demands are unreasonable!

If a bomb went off the protocol is to request that all off duty staff attend. Days off and holidays are sacrificed. I'm 110% confident doctors on strike would also attend.

Your other A&Es will be covered by senior doctors. As stated many many times.

yawn yawn yawn, the same points that have no basis in fact.
