This was a typical Van Gaal set up with United including Schneiderlin:

If you cant accept what everyone in the game accepts that Van Gaal played Schneiderlin way deeper than he had ever been used before then there really is no accounting for what you think is in front of your eyes in a game. He was a defensive midfielder for United. How could he get a game ahead of that with United's players like Herrera, Mata even Fellaini above him in the pecking order.

"He was a central midfielder, not a defensive midfielder".

Jesus wept.

As you directly talked abpout his record during LVG's first season mate then i highly doubt that was the managers set up, Depay wasn't even there that season, the season he actually was at United mate, he played once on the right wing btw and 37 times on the left wing - yet apparently he was part of L:VG setup playingon the right side - really, are you just trying to say stuff now and hope something sounds ok?

But i am impressed how he linked up with Di Maria when the two of them where never at the club at the same time - very very impressive

Also Schweinsteiger wasn't there in the first season LVG was in charge either mate - so another bit of a mistake in how they set up from you - even the season he was there though he played 18 out of 38 league games.

So which season are you actually trying to talk about Dave? the first season which you where quoting earlier and which we where talking about (that you apparently think Depay, Darmian and Schweinsteiger where playing for United) or the second season (when apparently you didn't realise that DiMaria had been sold and didnt play for them any longer)?

Fancy sticking Pogba into the LVG setup as well mate? or maybe you can stick Gundogan into it?

Go onto any Man Utd forum and tell them Schneiderlin wasn't played out of position as a defensive midfielder in the time he was there and see what reaction you get. That is the overwhelming view of United supporters concerning that player. Its the overwhelming view of most media pundits too. And it's what I observed...which is why I agree with them. But you're telling me the opposite is the case.

At Southampton he was allowed to play box to box because Wanyama was the holding player; at United he was the one tasked with holding and Schweinsteiger (who he was paired most often with) was tasked with getting up the pitch.

This ^^^ is just basic knowledge that all football fans who watch the PL have about the player. But here you are intent on presenting some fiction about a player playing out on the wing and getting themselves in areas of the pitch where Mata or Herrera would be operating. I'm honestly embarrassed for you.

Capoue, Drinkwater, Fernandinho, Pietewrs, Yacob, Lamala, Gueye.

...and?

can you provide a link to the article or site you got those figures from Dave - and remember it is the 14/15 season - Schneiderlins first one at Man United we are talking about here.

Not doubting you, just that i have seen a very very different list of players - and one schneiderlin isnt where you suggest

Your list is seming very very strange indeed though, Capoue was one of the 7 highest players in commiting fouls in the 14/15 season - despite only playing 12 league games

And you have included in the top 7 Gueye - who was playing in France for the entire season

so Dave are you lying, getting confused, or just throwing anything out you can do and hope no one calls you on all your 'mistakes'?
