Bit disappointed in that episode. It's like they're giving in to what the audience wants to see - the relationships & the jokes etc.

All looking good on my predictions though :)

As a member of the audience I did want to see that. And as a member of the audience give me more of what I want to see and bring on THE EPIC BATTLE!

I think it's been said before, but it looks like the last hoorah for most of the characters who are going to die. There's an element of Benioff and Weiss winking at us, but as a farewell episode, I think it's only going to really hit home how poignant those moments were after the next few episodes

I reckon it's all going to kick off in the crypt. The last episode had soooo many references to who was going to be in the crypt when the dead arrive. Also who else is normally in a crypt? - yeah you got it ...dead people

Arrrgh - Ned Stark / Jon snow's mar for cameo appearences?

Yupp, it's all gonna kick off - and the little girl defending them all is gonna die a hero.

The battl episodes have been some of the best TV for a long time to be fair.

Hardhome blew me away for how good it was visually and edge of your seat stuff. Battle of the bastards was great for the tactics, even the end of series 7 was great for again not knowing what would happen.

I've read a theory that that little girl is in fact Melisandre in disguise. The girl looks a bit like Shireen Baratheon who Davos obviously cared for a lot and was sacrificed by Melisandre.

Have the writers been changed for this season? Something feels off. It’s understandable they want to build tension before the battles ahead and characters get to spend a potential last night with each other, it’s been handled poorly imo. The dialogue, the interactions, feels unsatisfying and everything is moving at a frantic pace. Feels as though they should of have waited for George Martin to finish his work before pressing ahead. Episode 2 was underwhelming IMO.
That much has been apparent since season four.

The big problem with the first two episodes of this final season are that they have been way too short (54 minutes and 58 minutes) which hasn't allowed anything complex or in-depth to happen. Add to that some of the pointless filler - the dragon date, for instance - and it's all pointing to bad executive decisions.

There have been good points: Samwell and Daenerys, for instance. But all of the unpredictability that made the first three or four seasons so great has gone. Fingers crossed they pull it out of the bag for the rest of this season, but it's not looking likely.

4 episodes left, so will be fast paced from here... Maybe 2 episodes for the Battle of Winterfell (with many characters killed), then 2 episodes to deal with the aftermath, and whether Daenery's bends the knee to Jon snow...who kills Cersei... And does Bronn try to kill tyrion and Jaime (don't think he will)...
Daenery’s, and her followers , wont bend the knee to Jon Snow without proof, cue a scene where Drogon gives Jon a nasty look and either on Danny’s orders or off his own back breathes fire on him . Out of the flames steps a naked but unscathed Jon Snow , all bow down to him , including the dragons, and they all lived happily ever after ..... until series 9.
