Fair enough just that the 'calm before the storm' story arc is one of the most cliched paths in films/productions. GoT has long been successful at surprising us and I enjoy the character development at the expense of action sequences but there effectively remains 3 episodes left to tie things up. Would've been more in keeping with Martin throwing the reader a curve ball

You are the Roose Bolton of this forum.

Now everyone expects the surprises so they are doing the unexpected and not giving us the expected surprises.

The more I think about it, episode 1 should have been cut down to 20 odd minutes and episode 2 added on to it to make it a classic season opener. Setting the scene in episode 1 for people who are fans was excessive. Episode 2 was what we wanted.

But where's the Night King?

He is probably digging a tunnel into Winterfell or something lol

Am I the only one who cringed at the Arya-gendry scene. They can be in love or whatever and not have it like that. I know it was mild by game of throne standards but this girl grew up around all of them and now they're like show me dat ass and dem titties. And gendry to do the scene, that guy must be a savage.
I didn't take that scene that way at all. In many respects it showed Anya's human-ness, something she has more or less lacked throughout the series

I thought it was a great episode - one for the fans.

It was a time to reminisce on the series with these characters, how they've changed, how they've remained the same, just seeing them one last time before all hell breaks loose, and many die next week

One for the fans Hahahaha
