Game Of Thrones: Season 8

If anything it's a compliment as to how good the show was in the early seasons that it could hook in someone like me who hates fantasy stuff and has no interest in medieval history etc. In theory its pretty much based around stuff i don't care for but the story, characters and politics/scheming were so well done that it completely sucked me in. I always knew it would end up going in heavy on the fantasy stuff though and that my interest would start to wane when it did so.

i love fantasy stuff but so much of it is utter guff

A decent start but does anyone else think there are too many one liners in the dialogue? Conversations come across as fan fiction or a YouTube comment section at times and it’s a bit annoying IMO.

I miss Ned Stark and King Robert

the dialogue is pretty poor as is some of the acting, but tbh they can get away with alot now due to the world and character development they have already built up

The night king really looks so similar to Bran...
I wouldn't say that the night king seemed so lifeless.

Joking apart, I enjoyed the first episode of the last season. It was however a bit one paced and got though a lot of work putting everyone together. It could have been allowed to breathe and allow them to come together more 'naturally' over a longer episode or over a few episodes. The one liners and asides between the main players were a little 1-dimensional, and in fact, lots of stuff... but it set the series up from here on in.

I've always been amazed in fantasy style stories that they either all get there in some miraculously synchronised way apart from one main obvious player who then turns up as doom impends... that's why I think the Lannisters are going to come good right at the end.

I think the issue now is that they have too many story threads to cram into a small amount of episodes. Earlier on they had the luxury of longer scenes. Now they have to bounce around quickly to try and tie everything together before it ends.

Lads it's literally already been leaked lol I've just watched it.

It's a good episode and sets up the rest of the season nicely. However I'm fuming over who gets a sex scene
