I certainly don't think Steve is a club staffer he just has perhaps different opinions to some of us and I think he perhaps looks beyond the obvious sometimes .

On the club being for sale I posted the name 'Jain group' before it hit the media , I have no inside knowledge at everton but i do know that around the BU time the club approached very people who work in football to recruit or at least look for investment . This is exactly what happened at Blackburn who used SEM/Kentaro to find investors. Interestingly the financiers who brought possible investors had approached the club months before but "couldn't get through the door " . I post that but i can't post as fact other interested groups but there have been I'm confident of that .

People can dismiss that as Internet fantasy or kenwright propaganda but it happened and it fell through like so many other interested parties and I think most of us suspect the reasons .

And if you look at Newcastle and their assets, location, fanbase etc... That figure seems reasonable. Even when he tried to sell it the other year for around the same price, he had no takers.

Everton should not be going for £125million as we don't have a 50k seater stadia, we share the city with one of the biggest clubs in the world, we don't own our training ground etc.

I disagree that Newcastle are a bigger club than us. Ashley purchased that club before the new mega TV deal.

Finch Farm is a red herring. It can be bought back any time for £15m or you pay £1.3m a year in rent (as laid down in the accounts). From a financial perspective it's not a big deal either way and does not make a bit of difference to the valuation.

He does not say they were bigger than everton.

What was finch farm sold for?

It can't be bought back 'any time' There is an opportunity every(I think) five years to buy back on preferential terms. Wyness' modus operandum has always been in the area of 'sell and lease back' and 'outsourcing' (he outsourced Aberdeens catering to Sodexco a long time before he came to Everton.
I'm not suggesting that theres anything wrong in Wyness' methods, in fact I think he did the right thing.

You talk about 'a non conspiratorial way' and then go on to describe what you think is a conspiracy ! Bill actually told the Blue Union there was a prospectus. Tyrell confirmed this. Collymore and his producers did well and the overall impression I got was that there has possibly been an attempt on the part of the club to be more transperent...at least some things were confirmed that were previously on the shelf marked 'hearsay or rumour'. Its strange that a fairly inexperienced broadcaster admittedly with a good production team, got answers to some questions and presumably might be able to go back in a few months and ask some more questions, or follow up questions.
In fact, he achieved something that the Blue Union singularly failed to do, opened a dialogue with the club.

They did open dialogue with the club Steve by getting an interview with Kenwright.

Upon listening to his inane ramblings, they felt that fans should know what a mess this was, and I for one admire them for that.

The fact that some people took umbridge with this says more about them than it does the BU IMO.

So when are they having their follow up meeting? .......

You think a dictator will allow himself to be made a fool of twice? I am sure that his advisors took one look at that interview and told him to get back to the cellar and keep to media friendly sound bites.

What your answer above tells me, is that you are genuinely bitter that somebody outed Bill as a blagger, it's almost like sneering at the BU as they never got another interview. Thank you for the confirmation of what I always thought.

Certainly not avoiding your point deliberately....just requiring confirmation as to whether the £125 quoted includes the debt or not, because quoteed prices are usually debt free and its down to the seller to sort the debts out. Do you think the price is £125 million plus the debt? Or inclusive of the debt? Someone above has said that 'exclusive of debt' was quoted. If thats the case , even allowing for the Sky riches(which every other Prem club gets as well) it will be difficult to sell the club at that price.

I thought I'd made my view on that crystal clear, but seemingly not...

I'm 100% convinced that the figure quoted was exclusive of the debt, as otherwise the clubs spokesperson would have clarified the point, as it puts the asking price in a totally different light & given he's a PR man he wouldn't have missed the opportunity to make this significant distinction known.

I'd love to have a look at the "glossy perspectus", I wonder how you get hold of one.

I know Astro touched on trying to buy kits outside of the superstore, but its a shame that none of the callers last night really went into detail on kit sponsors, kitbag/Sodexo and multiple corporate sponsors like United/City are using.

I refer to how much was it sold for? Not why was it sold.
