Haven't read the rest if the list but mucha was available for a free if somebody was prepared to match his terms , so the first name is a coupe if million out

He's an international goalie with (okay very little) Prem experience. In today's world I didn't think £2m was too much.

Nice idea, I think you've also valued Jelavic and Barkley too high but it's opinions I guess. Also see those figures as maximum potential money, whether we'd get that amount with our board in control is another matter.

There are so much more to deals than that though mate like wages , demand anything really. Ultimately a player is worth what someone will pay and how badly a club needs to sell. I do know agents were told before the last window if they could find a deal to match mucha's terms he could go on a free , nobody could.

Just to throw it in there I don't know how squad valuations work in football club deals. Over a Starbucks I've just put these figures together (contract info gained from those good fellows at Toffeeweb):

Player Contract Expires Value (£m)
Jan Mucha Jun-13 £0m
Tim Howard Jun-16 £3m
Tony Hibbert Jun-14 £0m
Leighton Baines Jun-15 £18m
John Heitinga Jun-14 £4m
Phil Jagielka Jun-17 £12m
Sylvain Distin Jun-14 £0m
Phil Neville Jun-13 FA
Seamus Coleman Jun-15 £6m
John Stones Jun-18 £3m
Shane Duffy Jun-15 £3m
Darron Gibson Jun-16 £6m
Bryan Oviedo Jun-15 £3m
Thomas Hitzlsperger Jun-13 0
Ross Barkley Jun-16 £8m
Leon Osman Jun-14 £2m
Steven Pienaar Jun-16 £4m
Marouane Fellaini Jun-16 £25m
Francisco Junior Jun-16 £1m
Nikica Jelavić Jun-17 £8m
Kevin Mirallas Jun-16 £10m
Steven Naismith Jun-16 £3m
Magaye Gueye Jun-15 £2m
Apostolos Vellios Jun-14 £2m
Victor Anichebe Jun-14 £6m
Matthew Kennedy Jun-15 0
Conor McAleny Jun-13 0

Total £129m

Be interested to see what other folk think on this

bit less imo

Aye, you could say the team is worth 151mil as an asset, I'd love to know what the total expense would be for wages unpaid to fulfill all contracts. Would be staggeringly high.

Mucha had a very good world cup in 2010 and could probably still use that as an excuse to bump his price up

I didn't set the price mate but I know in November last year at least two agents were acting under the belief that mucha could go on a free , I think that maybe shows how as fans we can get it wrong

If someone buys the club the following is an estimate of cost of the first 3 years IMO. To get us challenging for a top 4 position will have to invest a net of 100m on players. Then there is a new stadium required which will probably cost another 150m. The add Bills 125m he is looking for and then add the 48m debt. So that is 423m costs without taking into account any losses in the first 3 years. Not many people floating around with that type of money. IMO bill need a major reality check on his valuation of the club.

Not this again, attacking is equally important as defending to a modern full-back. Full-backs are effectively midfielders in the modern game.

YES "this again"

A defender that can't defend is not worth much. "attacking is equally important as defending" only if you are relying on having an attacking full-back (like Baines) but a key factor of being able to do that is being able to defend first as that is their job role!

Jelavic can't score in a brothel with a pocket full of cash, but he must be worth £20m cos no one runs that channels like him, lad.

I listened to some of the programme last night & have now read all of the answers to Stan's questions.

He needs congratulating for bringing the clubs plight into the National domain, shame on those who decided to abuse him on twitter & 'shoot the messenger'. Also, those suggesting that it was a PR stunt lead by the club & not even instigated by Collymore et al, need to get back in their bunker imo.

As for the detail, for the first time, we now have a confirmed asking price for the club. The conjecture now ends, it's £125M. So now the price is in the open & the desire to sell has been stated, there can be no hiding place for the current incumbents should a buyer not be found. As if the club doesn't sell at £125m, then it's definitively the price that's the issue. Everyone who wants change at Goodison can now unite behind this fact.
