She was refused a work contract renewal because she believed sex was biologically immutable and that it was therefore impossible to change sex. She lost an initial court case, with a judge saying her view was "not worthy of respect", but the appeal has found that, yes, it was, and it is a protected view.

The trans activists are trying to claim it isn't a victory because the decision doesn't allow misgendering, but that was never the issue in court - it was the core belief that sex was immutable that was the issue.

I mean I say "belief", "opinion" etc. but let's be honest, it's scientific fact - sex is determined at birth by XX/XY, 'woman' means human female, therefore trans women aren't women, they are trans women. The 'trans' aspect of that description should be respected and not erased; there's no shame in being trans.

oh wow. yeah that whole trans thing is becoming an issue. gender-fluid i can understand but biological sex is set in stone (with ultra-rare exceptions).

one witty comment i saw describing men in drag who demand to be called female is that they're effectively doing a form of blackface, mocking actual women. and women should probably be offended by it (if it gets as far as men partaking in womens-sports or sharing loos and whatnot).

i can't watch for than a minute of Oliver, Noah, Colbert. Utterly sanctimonious. Their presented arguments are laughably one-sided. The little i've seen of Tucker suggests he at least considers the other side of the story, even if he won't land on it.

Incidentally, i used to very much enjoy Jon Stewart.

Whether you like it or not, these are the proven strategies that work electorally against the right. The alternative is moaning about the rights' dominance and being in a position of perpetual protest.

That is a crap counter-argument, mind.

I mean, for a start Biden doesn't appear to be so unpopular - he is more popular than Trump ever was (Trump never got above 50%). Yes, there were a lot of anti-Trump votes but when Trump was polling 40-44% in the popularity stakes for almost all his time in office, had reduced the US to a laughing stock and overseen a disaster in his own country unprecedented in recent history this should surprise no-one; the man was (and is) hated for what he did.

For me there is not really the middle ground you're looking for on Trump. He is, quite simply, the most fundamentally stupid man I have ever seen hold high office in my life. He clearly has no idea about anything, and seems to be a walking series of explosive emotional reactions to slights both perceived and real. I like you D, but your attempts to make him look like some sort of misunderstood genius make me Lol and ruefully shake my head. I know 12 year olds with more maturity and emotional intelligence than him and that is not even a slight exaggeration. It was and still is utterly astonishing that he got there and even more astonishing that his cult like following enabled him to carry on as he did despite being blatantly unfit to go into a ball pool unsupervised, let alone run a complex administration. It was pointed out many times, but what else were people supposed to do, carry on as if it was normal?

No it's because the Republican party is dominated by a cult of personality to the extent that it's the Donald Trump show. They sold their soul to him.

Must admit I agree with Prev on this one; Trump is the most ultimate narcissist. Only area I disagree with him is that I don't think Trump is stupid as such; instead I think he's almost pure selfish evil, a man so intent on what's best for number one that in another era without democratic safeguards he'd be an authoritarian dictator.

The criticism of him is wholly justified.
