Felli over Baines?

Who would you displace form the midfield to accomodate Fellaini moving back? Osman and Gibson have been two of our best players over the last year. Fellaini has repeatedly shown that he is too slow to play as a box to box midfielder and doesn't have the positional acumen to play holding mid. Need I remind people of the run around Charlie Adam and Lucas gave him in the semi final and more recently the Leeds midfield? Baines is one of the world's best left backs, the same cannot be said about Fellaini as a midfielder.

So continue to play him as a target man infront of Jelavic? I dont think it benefits anyone but Fellaini's game.

The way we play is to accommodate Fellaini up front.

I'd deffo be keeping Baines of the two. Read the other day that he has created 65 chances so far this season for us, Messi and Ronaldo have only created 51. Not suggesting he is better than either of them, but we couldn't replace his quality. As boss as Fellaini is, he is the more expendable of the two.
But on the other hand how many off those chances created had felli on the end?

Baines:
Elite Left Back
Local lad, potential Everton hero
Would fetch less money as a defender
hard to replace
boss hair cut
gets the whole Everton thing
tries his hardest every game
pretty much never banned or injured
top attitude

Fellaini:
pretty good midfielder
got funny hair
gets banned a lot
bit of a [Poor language removed]
would sell for loads
easily replaced tbh

I'm gonna say Felli.

Baines would never be replaced. How can you replace someone whos the best in the world in his position.
Given the choice, id sacrifice Fellaini.

Agreed Squire

I don't want to sell either of them but if there was a choice I think I'd rather sell Baines. Get good money for him and we have Oviedo here now. Just think we'd miss the big man more. What does everyone think?

I dont think he'll have much choice come end of season, i think big fella is almost set on moving on....in my opinion we should keep baines and cash in on felli, he is replaceable and if you look at stats bainesy is up the day in day out, assists, goals, passes, tackles.. and to be honest if it was in the plans to sell baines i dont think moyes would of spent 4.5m on gettin peanuts back.

The irony calling someone a bit of a [Poor language removed] with a reply like that.

some quite petty arguing in this thread for what is really a simple question, the reason it is being asked is because BOTH of them are playing very good football and so attracting attention.

Obviously people have their favourites but it's not a case of Fellaini is better than Baines or vice versa. The easiest way to look at it i suppose is who is easiest to replace and in my humble opinion I honestly think fellaini would be easier to replace as much as i love him. When coupled with the fact that we would more than likely get double the fee for him it's a no brainer.

However we should do our utmost too keep both at least until june and really push for a league position that would enable us to keep them and also strengthen.
