Thank you, there we are, it's the one acknowledgement I'm looking for people to make: we won't miss Fellaini. He isnt integral to our play, and we even play better footbsll without him (I accept the last two might be a stretch too far for most). We played brilliantly today without Fellaini, as much as I love him he isn't bigger than the club and in a way I'm hoping for some crazy fee to be thrown at us.
This nailed onIf a 25 million pound bid came in for Fellaini towards the beginning of the transfer window (highly unlikely IMO) then I think we should sell and possibly get 3 or 4 good players in.
He is overhyped in the extreme, and we have a tendancy to hoof it when he plays. We will be more than fine without him, and there's just no way that one Marouane Fellaini is better than having 3 very good 10million pound players.
I just think Baines is more important to the way we play. Plus he's easily in the top 3 LB's in the world, in fact I believe he is the best.
We would have won today if Fellaini played and Gibson.
Corrected.
Both, along with Baines, are irreplaceable. We should sell others who aren't so vital. Problem is we won't raise much for our chaff.
It's that awful Catch-22 scenario. For us to gain that missing killer instinct, and that extra focus in defence, we need two huuuge signings. To afford them (and attract them), we need either to sell our two best players, or play regular Champions League. But to play regular Champions League we need to gain that missing killer instinct, and that extra focus in defence, so that we finish high enough in the league. But we won't finish that high if we lose our two best players.
:confused2:
