Fellaini wants to leave Everton?

Everyone said Pienaar was 'a sensible person' and look how that one turned out.

Fellaini didn't exactly turn up against WBA did he?

It would be nice if players committed to Everton, with a real genuine intent (not just lip service) to win a trophy with Everton

As opposed to players who want out less than 1 year into a 5 year contract with Everton.

Fellaini is entirely to blame, and no, I'm not going to 'applaud' a player and call him a 'sensible person' for acting in the manner that Fellaini did. There's too much of this, 'oh well, we're only Everton, it's to be expected' s***e. Yeah, we have financial limitations that leave us vulnerable. Doesn't mean our highly paid, long term contracted players can take the piss and bail any time they want on a whim.

We need to draw a line under it, and no, I'm not going to boo him. At the same time, let's not get giddy and start praising him for wanting out, eh?

So you ask the players to commit a large part of their incredibly short careers to a club where they probably won't win a trophy when the people who run the club have invested sweet f*** all since they took over ?

Come on man.

I dont blame anybody wishing to leave Everton to further their careers.

Its the manner in which they leave thats key.

Joleon Lescott was the wrong way, Mikel Arteta the right way.

Both have moved on to better Clubs, with "more" chance of winning a trophy and more importantly CL football.

No problem with that.

Fellaini did us a solid, he signed a 5 Year contract, when he knew, hell even we knew that he wouldnt see out that contract, he could have been a super snide, but the lad put the Club first and if he does leave or rather, when he does leave, he will go with my best wishes and thanks for his service.

I think his head is turned due to the wages of his international teammates. They move because they are earning more money. I don't think Arteta and previously Pienaar will win anything under their new clubs.

Again though back to 'agents' as much as anything is they 'spin' the press releases that said Lescott was dying to go but we dragged the deal out negotiating and ultimately financially at least getting a 'good' deal whereas Arteta was completed quickly. It's a lot easier being gracious when you haven't got to 'agitate' for a deal which by its very nature turns fans against you .

Im not so sure about that . Despite press reports of 'dropping wages' I'm sure Arteta is doing very well at arsenal but in my opinion he left to play at the highest level , how many consecutive years in the champions league are they & Who could blame him for that ?

Arteta hasn't had a big wage increase. He gets to play in the CL on a regular basis.

Fellaini is already on AT LEAST £75k a year, and he's frequently said he wants to play in Europe and that's his ambition.

They have more chances to play in Euro. True.

Arteta actually took a wage decrease upon his move to Arsenal.

I think he might be on a lower 'basic wage' but with bonuses, signing on fee , various incentives as somebody in the business said to me if Arteta's agent moved him to arsenal and he's taking home less money then his agent needs shooting.

He's off... There's no doubt about that! As said by others it's the way you go about it, show some respect for your current employers who are looking to have a succsesfull year with yourself being a major part of it.

If he wants to move on for regular CL and PL challanges I have no problem with that. He has given us 5 good years and we will get a monster fee and replace him. No ones irreplacable and I actually think selling Fellaini would give us the funds to bring in the remaining players we need to be a very good side for the next 5 or so years.

Moyes comments make me think hes already accepted this is fellaini's last season. I would imagine its already been agreed between player and club they would let him go after this season. No doubt they were not expecting him to tell the world!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a similar thing happen 2 years ago when his agent (his dad) came out into the media and said that he's definetley leaving Everton within a year?

That's his dad though, he's been pushing for a move since the dawn of time. Fellaini pretty much gave him the finger when he signed the new 5 year deal in November.
