@efc.1878 i agree.

Both are gonna be tough, on our day, we can beat anyone, but they can too.

United, who are currently hugely depleted, will be a very big test for us, as you'd expect them to up their game, Rooney will be back as will the rest.

They can't be that bad forever.

But come on Everton do it.

Probably been asked a million times but is it sunday 3pm ko as the bbc is saying?

Have they said that?

I wish the F.A. Would just come out and state the dates and times.

Just work on the assumption that United will be in the EL and announce that Everton will be the the Sunday match.

Watford v Crystal Palace on the Saturday.

Then we can all go about booking trains, coaches, planes, boats or whatever mode of transport Blues will be using and those of us who want to make a weekend of it can sort out accommodation.

Why does everything in football have to be complicated so unnecessarily?

FA have NOT yet advised which game with be on which day.

There ya go

There is absolutely no reason why they cannot say right here and now.

None.

The semi final of the EL is on 28th April. So even if Manu go through on Thursday, they still have to beat someone in the quarter finals. The only reason I could see is that the Met will not want to police the London Marathon and an Everton v Manu semi final on the Sunday. Which leads me to think it will be Sunday if West Ham get through and a Saturday if Manu get through.

The BBC get the first pick of which game they want to broadcast, and they had the Saturday tea time slot last year, the same slot that ITV had the year before

So assuming they chose the obvious bigger game i.e. us, and there's no Police objection to the KO time, then we should be 5.30 Saturday

Last train to Liverpool from London on the Saturday is 8:31 pm
Last train on the Sunday is 9:21

That's from Euston too.

Either way, if it's a 17:30 kick off you can forget the trains.

Put it into context a bit...

West Ham are above Utd in the league and going for champs league...

UTD are the only team who outclassed us this season in part due to the circumstances on the day and their manager is under enormous pressure.

UTD have rooney and Fellaini...Fellaini can head the ball better than anyone in our defence and we are weak on crosses supposedly.

i think west ham are owed a drubbing myself whilst united could beat us and LVG needs to win.

But surely they cannot wait weeks until the replay is over before announcing the dates.

Especially if the replay might possibky have to be in the midweek prior to the semi final if the RS are beaten on Thursday.

The Villa v Liverpool SF was Sunday 3pm last season.

Couldn't argue with that though I'd prefer Saturday.

It is the time rather than the day I am more interested in.

3 p.m. on either day us fine by me.

Early or late kick offs entail starts at stupid o' clock or returning home in the wee small hours :(

Crazy to think Villa were in a cup final last year...

I'd much prefer Saturday just because that's when football should be played. If it is Sunday then que sera sera I suppose...like you though, I hope not

Nothing makes sense with the English FA, and the TV companies, they are the last to consider fans. We as fans are impatient to book transport, get time of work etc.. But they can't make a decision. They will probably have to make a decision if Manu beat Liverpool as the replay wont be until the week before the semi final, with the EL quarters on the 7th and 14th.

The Man U / RS game on Thurs has no bearing on the announcement as they won't leave announcing the dates until after the replay with WHU has taken place. They usually announce the game times 3 days after the draw, so we'll likely hear on Thursday.
