If we get West Ham, I see a clear path through to the cup. They may have scabbed a couple of results off us in the past two seasons, but in all the games we played we were the better team. Two of the last three matches we've played them off the park with 10 men. Payet? They'll need two or three of him to overcome us in a game that's crucial. If it's United, that's a whole different kettle of fish. Forget up and down league form, they have the kind of class that can find a way to succeed in a big game. I'd put us as slight second favourites to win a SF against them. Hopefully West Ham finish the job off. If that happens we should feel very confident indeed of going all the way and lifting the trophy.
We're gonna shut their big mouths soon enough if they get through. ....everyone seems to be convinced that ManU has no part innit...Thats totally false belief. Not really arsed wich it will be

Cup has our name innit

I think Bilic has written United's pre match dressing room talk with his comments on Sunday.

If United got through, we've been given the worst possible draw out of those left in it - not insurmountable, but difficut; if West Ham go through, we've been given a draw that would be perfect for us, imo: a re-match with a team our players will be very focussed on and aware of how it could go wrong if indiscipline plays any part in our game, and avoiding a team like Palace or Watford who on their day can destroy the best laid plans...best get either of them in the final and let the occasion help overcome them.

I think this outstanding replay holds the key to the destination of the cup.

Has a big gob Bilic, but I have a feeling it will be Man U that will shut him up.

Palace vs Watford at Wembley will be massive for both clubs. It'll be their final and they'll be knackered after.
We can sweep in and mop up in the final ;)

[Positive thinking for a change]

Says a lot about the entitlement of the West Ham fans that I almost want United to beat them. Don't know where it has come from considering it was hardly anytime ago Sam Allardyce was hoofing his way up the championship with them.

If they beat United I would make us favourites at Wembley to beat them. That open pitch suits our game more. They are fundamentally a set piece team who like to cross it well. Having Lennon and Cleverley on the flanks, maybe even Oviedo over Baines as well to stop crosses coming in to that donk Carrol will be crucial to nullify their only real tactic. Then we just have to ensure that hysterical Englsnd wannabe Noble isn't refereeing the game.

The winner of our semi final is going to be heavy favourites for the cup, if getting through to a cup final isn't incentive enough then this adds to it.

I'm not sure which I'd prefer to face in the semi, Man Utd are Man Utd and can give anyone a game but could revert to how they've played most of the season and roll over. West Ham are doing well, but keep Payet quiet you keep West Ham quiet. Make no mistake, neither of them will want to be playing us. It's getting a bit exciting!

Far better to be in this situation (having a minimum of a 50% chance v any of the opposition) than how it used to be about 5 years ago where most seasons the semi final line up would contain two or three super sides who you knew you had very little chance of beating. You might scrape past 1 but beating two in a row at a neutral ground was extremely difficult. That's not the case here even if United win. We'll never have a better chance.

So you want us to not win the FA cup because it would mean the manager staying?

You utter melt.

Did I say that "you utter melt?" (can't believe anyone still says that.)

I was just highlighting a negative to a positive. It will be great to win a cup but it comes at a price. Try thinking before you mash the keyboard in rage you neanderthal.

Wanting us to lose the cup so that the manager gets fired is kopite behaviour, NEA.

Did I say that? Defaulting to the term "kopite behaviour" when your limited intelligence is challenged by a reply that forces you to think is a sad state of affairs. Please think long and hard and read and comprehend the content of the post before replying. Thanks!

Well it would make him Everton's most successful manager in the past 21 years to be fair

Ha true. Sad statistic though really!

So does that mean you would prefer we didn't win the Cup?

Not at all! I would love to win something but it would come at a sizable price.

Mate, I'm positive every single Evertonian would take that if it meant winning the Cup this year. Also we've got loads of cash now. Yes, we'll be leaking 3 goals a game. But we'll also be scoring 7.

A 7-3 scoreline every week will do me!
