Everton Youth Teams Thread

Interesting seeing the Spain u23 travelling party - obviously Robinson (and Garbutt) not considered as part of the 'training with the first team' group.
Havent seen that mate. Can only assume that they will be in first team Holland squad or loan being arranged. I'd guess at first team for Robinson and loan for Garbutt.

I'm getting really excited about next season for both the first XI and U23s.

Sorry, I was being a bit unclear - I was meaning that because they were included in the U23 Spain party they were not being thought of as part of the first team squad.

Where do we see the following players making an impact in the first team squad this season?

Connolly
Kenny
Walsh
Dowell
Lookman
Calvert-Lewin

Love the work we are doing with young players, even if a lot wont make our first team. Hand picking the best young players recently from Newcastle and QPR, Everton must be quite a draw for an u21 player right now. Over the years we made a lot of money bringing in young players and selling them on, we need to carry that on even if we do now have a rich owner

Walsh travels to Spain with U-23.
Joe Williams is ahead of him for now.
Same as end of season really when Williams was the one featured in the 1st team squad, though he didn't play any minutes. Walsh is still coming back from his injury so makes sense for him to start with U23s . Walsh will be an attractive prospect for a Championship club to take on loan , maybe somebody like Reading or Fulham .

I was hopeful for Connolly and Kenny, but fear the signing of martina has pushed both back. Walsh has the unenviable task of competing against the strongest element of our squad (centre midfield). I'm sure only injuries, will see him feature.
Kieron dowell has a chance at present possibly in the cups, but once again the signing of siguardsson and Sandro will limit his involvement in the league.
Finally at present DCL offers the only physical threat going forward and should feature intermittently depending on the opposition. However if a giroud, dembele or Benteke arrives, he would only feature in cup games or off the bench I feel.

I find the signing of Cuco totally bizarre when we have such good young players in the right back position.

Personally was thinking
Kenny to start at RB
Connolly backup LB
Walsh/Dowell championship loans
Lookman/DCL rotating in/out of the team
