I find the signing of Cuco totally bizarre when we have such good young players in the right back position.

Personally was thinking
Kenny to start at RB
Connolly backup LB
Walsh/Dowell championship loans
Lookman/DCL rotating in/out of the team

Personally it's an "okay if the kids look overawed we have someone here to fall back on". Safety net signing.

I know it's a big week for all the players, but none more so than for JJ Kenny. If he reallly impresses koeman this week then I feel he is favourite to start at home to stoke. He didn't do his chances any harm with his 45 minutes in Tanzania. He now needs to build on that.

Although both are highly rated by club and country I feel JJ to be significantly ahead of Connolly at present. I can see why Everton had the supposed interest in that riedewald who looks in his way to palace, as he can cover left back and centre half. For me Connolly is not ready at present.

I will be surprised if Kenny gets a start before Christmas, I think Koeman will go with Martina, hopefully I am wrong.

Joe Williams is ahead of him for now.

He will never ever be ahead of him in football terms, Walsh is twice the player.

I don't know why he seems to be overlooked

Injury?
Not one of unsworth's favourite's?
Seems to praise Williams at every opportunity, not so much Walsh.
I'm sure unsworth has a big influence on players moving up.

I really like Walsh. In an ideal world they could be like Pirlo and Guttuso.

Walsh is not with the first team as he is still in recovery from his injury.

Koeman and coaching staff have had him watching Gareth Barry in training / getting hints and tips from him in the past year.

In terms of ability, Walsh is our best young player.

Pennington was superb on both his lower league loan periods. He isn't plop, he might just not be good enough for Everton.
