You think that performance was good do you? Happy with what you saw? As stated elsewhere, our players make in a week what those lads can only dream about. Tie should've been put to bed tonight. It wasn't.

I could see this coming a mile off. Lack of pre season games coming into this one and you just knew we would look unfit tonight. If we play the same way over there then we are in for a shock

We played in about 3rd gear I think.

First time these players have played together in a competitive match.

They were more match fit that was obvious, yet we still sneaked it.

I am sure it will be far from easy......they played really deep when we had the ball and came to defend and get us on the break. Next week they have to come and try and score, so we will see how good they are then won't we.

The Slovakian outfit were a lot better than many expected. They would be a mid table PL standard I reckon. So, whilst it was far from a perfect performance, we beat a damn good team who look well coached.
If we park the bus at their gaffe, we might just nick this tie.

I watched the "highlights", we got lucky there. Seems like they haven't kicked on from Genk on Saturday which was also fairly crap.

Interesting to note, out of the 12 teams seeded ahead of us in the europa league, only one won more than 1 goal, and that was Zenit with a 2-0 win. The rest won by 1 goal, tied, or lost.

I recall the last 10 minutes in that home game were murder! They piled forward, and had they got an away goal, we would have been stuffed by a team of part-timers...!!!
