Everton V Wolves

Shows you the problem we have when we are without Arteta and Pienaar on the pitch, lack of creativity and today we are lacking composure as well.

If that was all the problem we had today, then it was still good but that was not the case we were lacking determination, we are not chasing enough ball and our reaction to the second ball was close to being next to nothing, the concentration was awful and most of the player was lost.

I certainly felt lucky we got a draw, they had so many half chances in the first half, we should feel lucky Wolves does not have a Top class striker, if Saha was playing for them we would be at least two nil down in the first half.

From what I see today Wolves was nothing special, all they were doing was what they suppose to do, close down our player whenever possible, and make a counter attack whenever possible.

We allow them play there game and with confidence, so, We make them look good, it is a bad habit we do it too often, why do we always make life difficult for ourselve?

Two game in a role, RS has lost points and we are playing Stoke and Wolves, three points from both of those matches then we would have been level on points with them already AND with a game in hand over them.

I would be real worried if Pienaar are not available against Bolton, as they have scored a goal away from home against Man Utd, there confidence would high after that result and as we all know playing Bolton away is never a easy match for Everton!

Let's hope we get a great result against Benfica to regain some much needed confidence!

I hate the fact that whenever we play bad or let teams scare us we start missing arteta and pienaar. yes they are vital to us but we're not liverpool who showed today that without stevie WHO and half girl/half man torres they're a team of shitty players.
I was dissapointed with moyes' comments when he said that he'd take a win with a bad performance!! What the hell is that supposed to mean?? If we are expecting teams like wolves to be broken down while we play shitty football like we did against pompey then we have no right to be in the top 6 this season.
Look at villa how they captalise on chelsea...we on the other hand just let ourselves down and that long ball is the worst thing that could have happened this season!!! Its gettin on my nerves. It'll be beyond us when jags, mikel return if we continue to play like this

COYB,wake up lads...start passing it!(y)

Poor once again in far too many periods of the game.

I never even got up to celebrate when Billy scored, to me a point at home is almost as bad as a defeat, and especially against Wolves.

Good points. Yak getting some game time, and actually played well with Saha.
Billy scoring, although he had a poor game.

Pretty much it.

Bad points.

Cahill missing again,
Saha missing some sitters,
Yobo continuing to play that dreadful long ball to players who are too short to win the ball.
Rodwell had a reality check

Delighted to see Moyes go with a 442 option, and it's only when he did that that we looked like scoring.

Annoyed that there was no XXL Sausage Rolls at half time, and what is it with the queuing system in the Street End, one lane to queue, one to leave, there was some caterer fella in a suit not doing much.

Also one other moan, why do people turn up 5 minutes late, spend the last 10 minutes of the half and first 5 minutes of the second half down behind the stand, and then leave 10 minutes early.

There is a lad who sits near me who is a ST holder. He misses a third of ever game. Madness, more money then sense.

I told you guys this would be a tough one. 1-1 not a surprise at all.

That said, I'm not worried at all. We'll get it together. We'll also get stronger and stronger when Pienaar, Jags, Arteta, Neville, and Anichebe return.

I thought we had a fairly strong looking bench today. Imagine what it's going to look like when the above players return. Moyes is going to have some options and players are gonna have to pick it up a notch or two to keep their places.

On another positive note, I won't have wait until 9:00pm CST to watch the replay on Setanta. I'll probably just wait and turn it on around 10:40 pm. :D

again,it may well be too late when they return it we continue like this. Players may be getting the feeling that its not a prob cuz mikel and jags are gonna come back and then when it gets better we'll rue these missed points!

You may be right. There are certainly issues there that won't be solved just by players coming back into the side.

Moyes has righted the ship before and I trust he'll do it again.

Mate you don't get it, and I'm sorry you don't.

Fact is we have dropped 4 points at home against [Poor language removed] opposition. It's not good enough, and getting it together when we have our stars back is going to be too late. I doubt very much we will finish in a Uefa spot this season.

I hate to say it everytime we played badly is because we don't have either Arteta or Pienaar on the pitch, but sadly it's the turth!

I do agree we should be beating these kind of team with or without them and I have said it before we need to work on our build up play when we are without creative player like Arteta and Pienaar. Once again sadly the problem has yet to be solve.

Unless Moyes work some miracle this week, so all of a sudden we could build up some attacking play when we play Bolton, otherwise without Pienaar once more, it's going to be very tough match for us!

Well this is where the manager is tactically inept. He must see how ball retention is the way to go, and not playing lotto with the big hoof.

Ghost, I've been accused of a lot of things but "not getting it" where Everton are concerned is a first.

The fact is I do get it.

Apparently you don't watch too much English football then?

Anyone can beat anyone on a given day. If you add our current domestic form in, then no, there is no "[Poor language removed] opposition" for us. Every team is a danger. Yes, even Stoke, Wolves, and Hull.

The sooner you understand this concept, the sooner you'll understand that there aren't any walkovers in the Premier League. Just ask Liverpool or Chelsea today.

Villa and Sunderland are both decent. Stoke and Wolves are both [Poor language removed].

Just gash today, its ok, still undefeated in 6, suppose thats a good thing?

Guess not, 4 points dropped, Stoke and Championship bound Wolves, not good is it really.

Our over reliance on pienaar imo is a major factor in his few niggles and injuries cuz we expect 50 % more from him these days.
Cahill imo should get a bit of stick,he has been in the soft spot for a while for no reason at all with his PL performacnes much below par. Why not give gosling a start??

[Poor language removed] game all round, lucky I had a Sensible World of Soccer view from the Top Balcony. And a steak and gravy pie courtesy of Danny. The Azul Panel concludes:

* No excuses, we should have beat them - Wolves are absolute tosh followed by an all too familar splattering of utter helmet fans.
* The centre mid pairing in the first half didnt work at all, they had no understanding and no one was showing for the ball.
* Heitinga looked better at right back but it seems clear he's going to be most effective as a centre half.
* Decent game from both Distin and Baines, Id struggle to find anyone else who had a good game.
* 2 points from 6 at home to Stoke and Wolves is not top six form.
* The referee was a bad tit.
* Billy is going to need some time, he hasnt got the pace to beat a man but has an excellent range of passing - not his best game today but pleased he got the goal.
* Pienaar, hurry back we miss you.
* Yakubu is coming along, some nice touches from him.
* We need to do the 4-4-2 thing from the off against these teams probably.
