Oh dear. What a shocker.
What must Tosun and Walcott be thinking.
Are we allowed to criticise Tosun, because I didn't see our saviour in him today. At least Theo got the message second half and had a go. We stunk the place out and Goodison was not a nice place to be this afternoon. The way the other results went, three points today putting us into the thirties would have eased the pressure immensely.
It looks like we're going to limp to safety with possibly the worst motivated set of players I've seen during all the years watching them.

We need to be composed and sort our defense out. All over the place at either end today. Much work to do on the training ground, surely like super surely we can get some steady perfromances.

(Dont call me surely)

We were lucky today. Sam should have taken McCarthy off at half time and put Rooney on, many on here we’re calling for it, if we can see it why can’t Sam. McCarthy wouldn’t have got injured and we may even have won. Not a great day for anyone, especially McCarthy.......

..interesting. Do you think it’s down to motivation more than lack of ability? Allardyce suggested it was confidence. I don’t know what it is.

My take (for the purposes of my sanity) is that we aren’t very good right now. We have the players to be quite good, and we’ll probably avoid relegation, but we need a few more, and a more enlightened manager to recruit well and tap that potential. If we do, we’re a reasonably good bet for seventh and higher, and a genuine crack at a cup. I’d prefer to be in the mix for everything, domestic and European, but we are where we are, and whatever I type here doesn’t make any difference. I’ve accepted we need to limp along to survival and the summer, then I hope Moshiri does the business at that point. Even if he does, we aren’t going to be genuine league contenders. I don’t like the fact that this where we are, but it is where we are, so I’ll keep supporting and hoping cos that’s my role.
