Two points thrown away tonight (n)
New striker definitely needed and Digne had a complete stinker!!
Need to pick it up against Watford on Monday.
COYB
Digne had poor delievery alright tonight but offers us so much enegry going forward.manager needs to call change in frees and corners if playera is putting in crap.

I think the change in lineup and lack of significant preparation going into it played a big part. I understand that we probably need to start rotating here and there but it was clear from the off that we lacked ideas.

Hindsight and all that.. but Bernard & Walcott should've started as normal. Lookman is largely ineffective when he starts games in the Prem and Tosun may as well have not even been on the pitch..

It's getting to a point where our lack of creativity in wide areas is a real issue and we seem to be forcing the ball wide a lot too. Last assist from a winger who started the game was Bernard vs Leicester and that last one period was Lookman against Palace. The fullbacks haven't been much better. Until that improves we won't be scoring many goals.

Bernard is just behind Silva for chances created this season. 2.9 per game compared with Silvas 3.0. Its the finishing that's the problem.

Richarlison has to star up top, fellas.

We simply can't play with Tosun there from the start. He doesn't offer the pace or power to get in behind and that meant everything was in front of Newcastle's defence.

It was clear to anyone with any sense today what we missed. Richarlison's movement always creates space, and that's the space that Sigurdsson etc can exploit.

We need a striker who can do that movement to open the game up for Sigurdsson. Richarlison has proven that he is much better on the wing, yet that movement he brings is important. That has to be a point of focus in the January window.

I can't keep voting for Gomes, so I went for Pickford. He made a couple of good saves near the end even though he'd spent most of the second half going to the halfway line to get a touch of the ball.

We didn't deserve to win. No point making excuses or saying we did. Of our starting front 4 only Richarlison performed. Our fullbacks and Zouma were poor. Gueye wasn't needed. And our subs didn't contribute. It was a bad day at the office, and we need three points on Monday or we will be well down the table come Christmas.
