No excuses with that amount of set pieces either

That was a particularly disappointing aspect of the game. Periods of relentless pressure and a bucket load of set pieces and not enough coming from it. Dignes final ball was poor tonight and we didn’t come out with enough fire in the second half which allowed them to get their 2 banks of 4 up and that was that.

We probably should have changed it after 55 minutes.

We need a better centre forward but we’ll have to get used to teams playing like that against us.

LOL Silva's been in charge for 3 months and you're already claiming us doing well above what most expected "junk"?

Sure m8.

It's them lot doing well too.

I hate them with every fibre of my being.

So I am struggling to stay enthusiastic.
Hope City win out every game till the season end.

Sunday was like entering the very pits of hell.

It's another case of why in these games you have to be even more focused on the defence because you know you won't have so many clear chances to score. But we were a bit too cavalier and they scored with their one attack. If it had been anyone but Atsu on those chances, one of the worst finishers in the league, we'd be going home with nothing.

Disappointing that we couldn't create anything in the 2nd half. Little bit of composure missing especially from Digne......different boots tonight. Pickford makes a great save in last 5 minutes to ensure a point for us. Going to get a lot of teams coming to Goodison to shut up shop and we have to learn how to open them up while keeping tight at the back. Think Lookman needs the sub role with a little longer on the pitch each time.

Must say Mason let a few nasty tackles go.

Lookman is an impact sub. He really should have gone off instead of Siggy.

Richarlison has to star up top, fellas.

We simply can't play with Tosun there from the start. He doesn't offer the pace or power to get in behind and that meant everything was in front of Newcastle's defence.

It was clear to anyone with any sense today what we missed. Richarlison's movement always creates space, and that's the space that Sigurdsson etc can exploit.
