flown in twice this season for games at Goodison, both wins, do they want me to be a mascot ???

played well last night, though it took a while to actually win the game, we ( as in the fans) got a bit nervous , which heightened the tension as we

came into the last 20 minutes.

We're a better team with McCarthy in it I think,Cleverley impressed me ,his work rate was good and he provided a threat up front.

all in all good game, play like this and perhaps we can salvage something from this season

Who mate?

Guy who sits in front to the right of me in the Upper Bullens. In Martinez' first season all he would do is slate Lukaku, last season too. Left right and centre, most people around him agree to the point one person infront of ihm turned around and said 'Have you ever said anything positive?'

Last night, we played well, Kone, YES he should scored the first one, the second I have sympathy for, played well despite this. He allowed more space for others, his movement was good, he looked alot more up for it than Lukaku did (especially if Lukaku was in pain, not surprising). The guy wouldn't listen to the point of Kone has allowed for others to be better, he won balls that he had no right of winning.

Alot of the time Kone does himself no favours, but I thought he was a really positive impact last night, and no matter what the guy would slate him, unwarranted. Barkley, who had a good game last night still made some small mistakes, when Kone made the exact same mistake, he was up screaming 'YOUR 'EFFING' 'rubbish' lad.' (to clean it up). Barkley at one point ran into a wall of 3 players, a mistake, forgiveable ofcourse, but according to this guy Barkley is uncriticisable and can't be blamed when he always has 2/3 players on him... He then ignored the point of, well Kone has 2/3 players on him and you scream if he doesn't keep it..

The guy, now he can't hate Lukaku, has to slate Kone regardless of how well he does for the team. It's getting tiring every game listening to his patronising contradictory nonsense. He believes he's got a more valuable 'opinion' cause he has been going for 50 years... I've been going for almost 20, I've seen just as much crap play in Blue as him.

I just don't get it. We've played really well, we've controlled the game, we've created chances, defended really well, keeper has commanded his area. Everything was positive and I didn't believe any player played poorly. We did all of this while looking short of confidence ourselves.
I've taken a few non blues to the match as we've had a spare ticket, all of them can't believe how negative and narrow minded he is.

His answer to 'Who would you have instead of Martinez?' was... 'Anyone'... That's not an answer, that's nonsense, If you can't justify his sacking and replacement then you can't argue it.

I know he doesn't represent MOST blues, but christ I can see why the players look 'out of confidence' when playing at Goodison if theres more of him lurking around.

Apologies for the rant, it's just increasingly frustrating watching Everton at home and listening to this guy speak as if he hates every inch of Everton football club, regardless of performance.

but I just can't grasp how any blue can be unhappy with that last night. Dislike Kone all you like, he wouldn't be my first choice either, but christ at least recognise when he has had an impact on a team. We didn't create much in the first half, second half we could have had 4/5.

Shout out to Oviedo who was my MOTM, dealt with Townsend every time, whenever he got a yard, managed to close it down. Best performance for him in a blue shirt for me.

I thought Kone was useless. Other than that great rant!

He made a couple of mistakes that were unecessary, but I do have sympathy for the final chance the ball angle wasn't great, but I thought he brought others into play a lot better than Lukaku was doing.

Not saying he is the answer, or MOTM, but he certainly wasnt 'crap' to put non-swearing. I do think Kone will be the 3rd choice with Niasse here, but maybe that'll kick Kone up the arse a bit knowing he wont be automatically selected to sub Lukaku.

I dont know, I just thought it was so over the top, if someone has a decent game which I thought he had, not amazing, but decent, at least lay off him rather than just looking for a scapegoat as per usual.. Quite often Barry would get cornered and have to play it dowon the line, Kone recognised that, Lukaku didn't predict that Barry would have to do it, whether he knew and couldn't physically do it, I don't know.

Also, thought Barry was sensational last night too, for someone who is so slow, he gets everywhere and his awareness of his surroundings is second to none.

Wow mate that was an almighty post! I promise I did do you the courtesy of reading it all. I personally thought Kone was poor last night bar a few decent touches but I get what you mean about him allowing others to shine and I wasn't just sitting there moaning about him!

Yeah there's a married couple like that behind me. Everything is crap, everyone is crap, every opposition team is crap!

We thought we had a breather against Dagenham as they couldn't make it. But then her parents came instead and her old man was worse than the two combined! When we got the penalty he was shouting (to no one in particular) "oh, Mirallas, I bet you twenty quid he misses"

Wasn't too impressed with my reply of "tell you what mate, I'll have a bet with you, if he scores you have to shut up"

Dunno why it's quoted like that but my reply is in there mate!

I thought he caused a lot of our counter attacks to break down when we were under a little pressure and his distribution isnt very good. In general a poor player.

But thats the beauty of football. We all see different things

Isn't it amazing how much better mornings are after a win?

I was all excited to be able to peruse GOT this morning, because I avoid this place after any loss since the toxicity is overboard. Here after a pretty assured win (albeit against a weak opponent), and this place is still filled with negativity. Oh well off to the sanctuary of the youth team/on loan thread.

Not sure about filled mate. But it is there though. Weirdly.

I don't think its weird that there's still negativity. One swallow doesn't make a summer. It would be a very knee jerk reaction to suddenly become positive after beating a team in the relegation zone.

However the general mood about the place is definitely less dark today

I think it's just a bit of a hangover from the way the season has gone mate, I'm sure a prolonged run of good form and results will see the mood lift.

Think this weekend could really help. Back to back league wins for the first time this season and beating a team above us for the first time this season would show a big shift in form.
