Liverpool created nothing the entire match and we had numerous opportunities, doesn’t matter when it jow they come. I remember losing 2-0 to them at Goodison and they had 1 shot on target in the last minute (Kuyt to make it 2 after Mascherano’s shot deflected in). We battered them that day but no one cared afterwards because of the result.

With an impartial hat on going on performance alone they should have won at Anfield, we should have won here, and the cup should have been a draw.

You must have missed the point blank save from Pickford together with the one he steered around the post from Milner. At the end of the day, we're 8 years without a derby win and that was our best chance today but we still couldn't take it.

The Solanke one was an unlucky bobble of Coleman, Milner fair enough but that’s one attacking move in the whole game from them.

We should have beaten them but we didn’t. They should have beaten us at Anfield but didn’t. All we can hope for is that next season we are better.

Recruitment is getting better....Walcott and Tosun are good signings....and Siggi will be back next season. We need a ball winner in midfield, a left back, and maybe another defensive mid in the summer, but then Sam knows this already. Its harder to find the extra creativity in MF thaty we also need,so someone who is a hard worker and gets a few goals, like Shaquiri, might be an option.

I was referring to the recruitment of Koeman, Walsh, Williams, Bolasie, Klaasen, Sigurdsson, Allardyce...where the club allowed itself to be held to ransom in every case. Clearly had no plan B. We paid minimum double in every one of those deals.

I never said we played well, but I didn't see us exactly waving a white flag either.

We just stood off them for the majority of the game, we gave them loads of space, allowed them to knock the ball around. We may not have waved a white flag, but we hardly got stuck into them either.

As the home team (against a second sting RS) the onus was on us to try and win the game, and we had a great chance to go for it, but Allardyce bottled it big style.

They had 62% possession and we had it about 80% of the last 10 minutes, so while they were not amazing, it's not like it was Advantage Everton in the first 80 minutes. Sam stating that we went at them for the last 20-25 minutes is also a complete joke. It was from the 79th on. That's it.

Spot on, we will only go backwards with him in charge. It does my head in that he could be here next season. We are currently a nothing team, with no ethos, no plan just a continuous decline. And I agree we don't even matter to them anymore that's how many light years we are away from them.
Seems like the BFS is a manager who can apply the brakes in a season sliding towards relegation but he has no ability to use the accelerator. As long as he is here we will be fighting relegation. That cannot be the Moshiri plan.

I hope it isn't. Or we will be in a worse mood next year. Aging troops that can't move or won't move off the ball these players need all to be replaced ASAP.
