I was getting updates from here mate whilst I was in work and it didn't make for great reading. My missus said we missed a couple of sitters late on but tbh it wouldn't have made much difference to my mood as it seemed to be another miserable laboured performance judging by the comments on here

The last 10 minutes we had a go macca, for the other 80 we just sat off them, comfortable point for them today without breaking a sweat, like a training match.

Really? That first half was a complete mess. They were finding room all over the place, and by they I am referring to Solankie, Ings and Milner. If they had bothered to play their first team it would have been a blood bath.

they played their first team in the previous two games against us this season and we didn't see this blood bath you referred to.

Salah was missing from the cup game and we got battered in the other game. If we'd lost that 3-0 there couldn't have been any excuses on our part.

OK to take a point against the team who are 3rd who just beat the leaders 3-0.
Not under these circumstances though.

When you factor in: Solanke and Ings in attack and Klavan at left back; the others watching themselves for the 2nd leg; 2 1/2 days since they last played so they would have been feeling it (especially noticeable towards the end): Milner and Mane taken off with 20 to go; they were in self preservation mode with one eye on Tuesday. To not take advantage of this was criminal. This was a bottle job.

There wouldn’t have been any excuses had Liverpool lost today 3-0. Plus at Anfield we went there in the league without Coleman Funes Mori Barkley Bolasie McCarthy, 5 first team players yet no one ever mentions when we’ve got injuries.

If Chelsea hadn’t have imploded we would have put a huge dent in their CL hopes.

Exactly. They bossed us first half. Remember they didn't NEED to win, they have bigger priorities. That's where we sit, miles off them. Sitting back hoping not to lose.

Will attempt to rate our players...

Pickford, 8, two good saves, nothing else to do
Coleman 6, didn't attack at all, was safe enough in defence
Jagielka 6, hoofed it aimlessly all game, wasn't threatened in defence
Keane, 7, won most aerial duels, put in some tackles and looked assured for once
Baines 5, garbage, constantly left space down their right, offered nothing going forwards
Schneiderlin, 6, tidy enough game, looked at least heads and shoulders better than Rooney and Davies
Rooney, 4, appalling, body is failing him, can't pass, can't run, attitude stinks
Davies, 4, as bad as Rooney just without the attitude. Did nothing right all game
Bolasie, 6, great shot but aside from that looked lazy and incapable of being any sort of danger to their defence
Walcott, 5, thought he was a joke today, offered nothing at all, kept slipping over, couldn't even take a run at their 4th choice centre back playing as a full back
Tosun, 6, give him a six out of pity for those players around him, he had no chance to get into the game
Don't give up your day job :dodgy:

lol

You think our 10 minute salvo warranted a 3-0 victory?

Liverpool created nothing the entire match and we had numerous opportunities, doesn’t matter when it jow they come. I remember losing 2-0 to them at Goodison and they had 1 shot on target in the last minute (Kuyt to make it 2 after Mascherano’s shot deflected in). We battered them that day but no one cared afterwards because of the result.

With an impartial hat on going on performance alone they should have won at Anfield, we should have won here, and the cup should have been a draw.
