I think confidence in football plays a massive part in everything they do, When its low nothing seems to come off and players don't want the ball

Keep saying it over and over, We do not have good technical footballers in the attacking positions, Not one of them is the type who can play a neat through ball or play a quick one two at pace

Martinez insists on a methodical passing style and he really needs to sign players who are comfortable playing that way
With been playing more direct than Moyes for a while now

Liverpool who have spent 150m this summer were just as poor as us, The guardian have it spot on and to be fair to the gimp so does Gerrard

Naismith should have done so much better with that header in the first half, Coleman could have won it at the end as well

Scrappy game which neither team deserved to win

Can someone please explain the O/S rule to Rom, he's got the touch of a rapist, to slow to react ,fxxin lazy i could go on but for 28mill i want much more..is he a younger version of the Yak only difference being the Yak could finish..before you slate me its just my opinion.

Imagine Lukaku with Coutinho playing in behind him!

I feel sorry for Rom. Feeding off scraps all season.

...I agree it hasn't helped that he's playing in a side struggling to create for him, saying that I understand he has more goals than at this stage last season. I still thought he could have been more physical yesterday, I wanted their CBs going off knowing they'd had a game.

I don't feel sorry for him, though.

Would be intresting to see the reaction on here if Martinez went more offensive and seen us get beaten

To be fair he not the same type of player as Andy caroll

Get in the bin you utter clown

Am I correct in assuming you saw the game on Sky? The atmosphere for the first quarter of the game was fantastic. After that the lack of action and incident inevitably took its toll on noise levels and it never got going again until the last quarter of an hour.
I was there and I agree but the ref played a part in killing it

In the cold light of day this morning, I'm pretty happy about that game. Scrappy as hell, but we turned up, gave em a game. Either team could have won that. Positives for me - Robles, Stones, Jags, Coleman, Besic, McCarthy, Lennon had good games and all looked up for it.

Well in lads. Bring on Chelsea

I like Naismith, his work rate and being able to pick up pockets of space is superb, but when linking the midfield and the attack, he's absolutely useless. There were times yesterday and times throughout the season that his poor passing has completely killed our attacks.

Two issues. If Garbutt has any future under Martinez, he would have started yesterday. And I hope Martinez will not stupid enough to give Alcaraz a new contract because he is not good and injured all the time.
I heard someone in the ground say Garbutt say he is leaving in the summer. Which given his couple of impressive performances and then oviedo taking is place makes sense. Martinez must be aware which means there would be no point in playing him.

Can had a good game. He needed to be more combative with him. I think his strength caught Lukaku by surprise. But Naismith needed to be closer to Rom all game, and he was shockingly bad in pairing up with Lukaku.

Can has looked brilliant all season, we needed to test him with a speedy winger not lukaku

Well it's an extra point this season than we managed last season!

On the up lads!!

Now please can we have barkley back No.10 for the forseable. For someone who according to some in his young footballimg life can't see a pass, he managed 3 defence splitting passes in 6 mins of football. Don't think naismith has managed 1 all season!
