We are not going to win nothing this season, that's a definite. I thought after the last couple of seasons we may actually take that next step and lift some silverware, I really did.

I unfortunately have to agree going on current form, I also am seeing a different Rodwell to you ricardobee. He was poor this evening, his passing especially was wayward. He has failed to impress since his superb display against AEK Athens. We are really missing Jagielka, Arteta and Fellaini but without question, the one we are struggling without and may come as a surprise too many, is the influence of Phil Neville.

"Remember that side what got to the FA Cup final? Cahill, Lescott, Yakubu........."

Since the transfer shut, I've had a sense of inevitability that the FA Cup Final squad will be remembered with regret, regret that we never took that next step.

Eh?

I'm not taking no step back, you are asking me to accept that this is the best we can produce. And I'm saying there are players out there who are not only not justifying their wage or fee, they are not doing the basics.

And David Moyes is doing nothing about it seems. To be honest, I really don't care if he stays or goes - if anyone comes in for him, so what. He ain't no great shakes.

He certainly can't spend big can he?

Whether you like Moyes or not doesn't matter - the fact is we won't get anyone better given the finances of the club.

Similarly, we can't play better if we don't have good enough players, and the players we have on the field are simply not good enough.

Once you've accepted this life becomes much easier. You can still support Everton and want them to win every game, even if you don't expect it.

Until we get our best and most effective players back and fully fit ( Arteta, Jags and Neville) we won't compete against the better teams - no point in getting angry about it, it's a fact!

Well I guess I care more than you.

Well I recall every transfer window when the clock was ticking and I moaned about our lack of ability in closing deals and lack of ambition. And i was constantly told to wait and see, and wait and see some more. For 4 windows now I am waiting. I am not seeing.

It will get to a point where we are going to hold our hands up and say this is not working and it needs to change. We then need to look at who is ultimately responsible and who is not delivering. This goes right the way through the club, from the top to the bottom, but it's from the top that needs to provide for the next man down, and that clearly is not happening.

What I would like to see is more people on this site showing a bit more passion for the club and a lot less tipping around the tulips, as the case usually becomes as soon as you get pissed off at something.

Not directing this at anyone in general, but we do seem to be far too passive for the situation.

Obviously Kipper is the opposite, but some of them have a right to be pissed off.

I doubt it, given my family history - and I'm not saying you or I are bigger supporters of the club, all I'm saying is accept our limitations and life becomes easier......

Your family history? What does that have to do with anything?

I am not going to accept any limitations. For life to become easier I **** football off altogether.

It's a sad state of affairs when I get more joy watching Liverpool than Everton, and that at the moment is truth.

I watch Liverpool and I smile, I watch Everton and I want to smash things up.

But for me I don't do half measures, it hasn't been good enough for over 20 years, but i'll never accept it at all. No fan should, because if you do, then you may as well jack in being a fan.

I can accept limitations and playing a better team than yourselves but to play with no heart, fire, passion and no fight is unforgiveable!

We had 53% possession. 4 shots on target, can't really recall that many.

What did make me angry tonight and this for me eptiomises what Everton are about at the moment.

The ball was breaking loose of a Benfica player and heading towards a throw-in near our own corner flag, now the Benfica player had given up but Distin trotted towards the ball, but not keep it in play and get the team moving, but to doubly ensure the Benfica player wouldn't get it, but he could see that he wasn't going to get it past Distin, he'd basically stopped.

So Distin had accepted a throw-in near our own corner flag, which we soon surrended possession from, instead of making that tiny bit more of an effort and getting the team going again.

There is just no desire to win, and I can't understand how they can go out there and expect to get paid.

We desperately need talented players.

There's no point in insisting in Gosling in the midfield. He's useless there. No flair, no technique.

Rodwell's ok, but we need a proper player to backup Arteta and play alongside Rodds.

Fellaini...how on earth did we pay that ridiculous amount of money for the lad when there was Defour right there?

Cahill has been a shadow of himself for these 2 matches against benfica.

We're not playing at full stretch. Even though we have a lot of players sidelined, those who step into the park are not delievering all of their potential.
