Homepage Update: Everton Sign Theo Walcott

Mate honest to god teams have been able to do that to us with relative ease this season regardless of how many DM's have been on the pitch.

Spurs was a glaring example - McCarthy & Gana could barely even get close to Dembele, Alli & Eriksen all game.. and I even advocated that selection before kick off!

It's far easier to stop the good teams high up but the problem McCarthy and Gana have is that our defense doesn't move up so when they press high it leaves a massive gap where the number 10s love to play and Spurs have 3 of them.

Our problems when defending are all down to having a poor defense that can only play deep. Against Liverpool it worked (to a degree) because they had a bit of an off day without Coutinho.

Is Walcott even a winger?

I thought the massive debate amongst Arsenal fans was when fit, where’s his best position?

I remember most of them saying he wanted to play centre forward, and although he’s good in that position, not good enough to lead the line for arsenal.

I think a few people on here are in for a shock..

I rate Vlasic but, like others, I don't see him as a winger. I suppose if Vlasic were to play there he could potentially interchange with Walcott when the situation called for it.

I just think it lacks real width. We need to open the pitch up, not make it smaller.

That's why Bernat is so important. Most top teams don't get their width from the wingers. With good attacking fullbacks who can run all day this formation works.

We really were a bit silly missing out on Robertson. I wouldn't be surprised if Pep goes for him in the summer to replace Delph. That will be another 60m winging it's way to the RS.
