I'm not looking forward to this one at all.

Our last 3 games against the current bottom 3 were a 0-0 against Burnley, 1-1 against West Ham and getting beat 2-0 by Wolves in the cup. Even when we beat Wolves in the league they managed 60% possession, more shots at goal and completed 50% more passes.

We've proven we can't perform against the worst teams in the league.

He should have been pilloried at the press conference for the travesty of a performance got out of the players on Sunday and his team selection.

But this is his real talent: the ability to weave a story for the media that they readily repeat for him that this level of shocking performance is permissible for Everton.

It's what he's done since day one back in 2002 and it'll be what he continues to do until he slings his hook.

"You Don't Say"

Team for this one:

GK: Pickford
RB: Patterson
LB: Aznou
CB: Tarkowski
CB: O’Brien
CM: Garner
CM: Armstrong
AM: Röhl
RW: Dibling
LW: Grealish
ST: Barry

Mykolenko thrives in games where we’re under pressure and he can solely focus on defending 1v1 against the winger. We will be on the front foot against Wolves, so would love to see an attack-minded full back being given a go. Similarly on the other side of the pitch.

It’s strange because neither Aznou nor Patterson look good enough at present, but I feel the whole balance of the team would be improved by putting them in.

Dibling with a proper full back behind him looked decent versus Forest, so let’s see how that goes again.

Tim was poor v Brentford so allows a change in midfield; if Armstrong doesn’t start versus bottom of the table at home, then when does he start?

If Moyes starts aznou, Patterson, and Armstrong, I’ll eat my hat.

Nothing less than a convincing win by several goals is good enough tonight, particularly on the back of the previous fixture. There are no excuses against a playing away from home that has six points from a potential 60 so far. Can't really say I'll confident, mind you.
