Every manager inherits other managers players, it's not something only DM has experienced. If his management is as good as you consider why did he make signings "clearly for the future" when his job is the here and now? We spent a decent amount and every team has injuries and suspensions. True, the last few weeks have been a struggle, but the poor performances and style of football have been here since the day he returned. Personally, I want to be entertained, not have to sit through slow, cautious and pedestrian football. I really don't understand why our squad is the least able in the division to retain possession, pass and move fluently and play two consistent halves in a game. Has there been a single game this season where you can honestly say you were entertained? Even the Bournemouth and United away wins were a seriously hard watch.
When Dyche arrived he "saved our bacon" in much, much tougher circumstances than Moyes inherited but it didn't mean we should keep him.
We've been a basket case of a club for years.
Finance, recruitment, points deductions, mismanagement. I'm sick of it.
Moyes is a proper football man who won't be swayed by fashions or trends. He knows what he has to do. Starting with getting us safe and building from there. He was on plan for this before the afcon and suspensions. Our first 11 - without restrictions would be an entertaining team and would indeed be pushing for Europe.
Rohl, Dibling, Barry and Aznou are there for potential. Some may work - others may not. Grealish and KDH are the quality in our team though - with N'daiye. I don't think we'd have got either without Moyes at the helm.
What we do need is a couple of full backs as an absolute priority. In hindsight these should have been secured before any other signing. Whilst January isn't ideal I think he has to have a go in this market to replace the full backs and see if there is a goal scorer we can tempt.
I'm still for giving him time and trusting his judgement. I see no other managers who would turn this team around.
Before Moyes the only other recent manager that you knew would do a job was Sam Allardyce - and whilst he was short term - he certainly gave me confidence that we wouldn't be going out and rolling over to have our bellies tickled.

I wasnt in this thread yesterday so I apoligise for going over old ground but i do not like the idea of Everton wearing an away kit at home.
Everton play in blue end of story , not wearing blue at home sends out the the wrong signals like the game is unimportant .
This is not an opinion formed after the defeat i felt that way before a ball was kicked.Apparently it was to boost shirt sales but to gain a maximum income of 50 grand was it really worth ?
Your sentiment was echoed by others, it's just not something that bothers me personally.

I'm not what you'd call a traditionalist, but I can appreciate the perspective.

Fair do's Terry, but I'd argue that if we got somehow into Europe with this squad and DM at the helm it would be detrimental at this stage - we simply couldn't afford to play another 10-12 games a season, not to mention the extra travelling etc.
In truth I think you're being a bit blinkered suggesting "no ther managers in the world" who could turn this team around. There's lots of managers around with a more modern, engaging approach to how their teams play. The fact that Allardyce and Moyes give you confidence we won't "get our bellies tickled" suprises me considering we're out of both cups at the first hurdle and have been humbled at home by the might of Spurs, Newcastle and Brentford whilst also struggling against such power-houses as Wolves, West Ham and Burnley.

We do agree wholeheartedly though on the first three sentences:

To me it's not so much how they play - but who is playing. Most of the squad he inherited should be - and hopefully will be -replaced.
As I say - I'd give Moyes time and money and see where we are at the end of the season.
He has an eye for a player - and he cannot be judged on the debacles of the last couple of months given the players available.
2 full backs and a striker please Davey lad.
